For those not attending, what is the news? Best of luck all around!

@b0 I am hearing everything under Koushik is getting completely gutted. Over half of all resources being told they are employees for another 90 days to train their replacements.
@b0 my manager said no. But there’s always next month!
Will there be another meeting for layoffs ?
@ay Infra, Network , Ops..
@aw what is cio?
Were the RIF’s completed prior to 10am est call for those who are getting rebadged to Cognizant?
Many team members in CIO already made redundant ( last hour)
Looks like so far it's one person on our team transitioning to a vendor, one getting RIF'd. That's 15% of our team. We'll see what the rest of the day brings.
Was just in a 9a central call. Those in the call are being ‘transitioned’ off to Cognizant or Zenzar ….
Supposed to get an FAQ later today with a new company intro call later in the week.
@OP is core24 affected?
This is a fu--ing mess.
Thousands of employees “moving” to Cognizant or Zensar.
@ag what area are you in? What is your role?
Who else received the next call on how your role will be affected? No one I know received it in Europe?
@ag I’m very sorry to hear this, wishing you the best.
@aj I’m a data analyst for one of our bigger applications. The funny (ironic) thing is we used to have a few offshore resources but they never panned out because we couldn’t get them to handle basic, small projects. There aren’t a lot of things this company does anymore that surprise me, but trying to teach an offshore resource things learned over 15 years (and there are still things I’m not comfortable in my knowledge base) over whatever transition period…
@ag Sorry to hear that. What is your position in FIS?
@ag they'll force you to accept by threatening your severance.
Just received a meeting invite for a meeting 90 minutes from now:
“Join us for a town hall to learn about your role, which is transitioning to one of our specialized partners. During this meeting, we will walk through what this transition looks like, what to expect, and how we will move forward together. “
I have been here 15 years. Good luck teaching the application database a d the hundreds of tables to an offshore resource in a few months.
@ad yeah, there wasn't a need for all of them. Maybe it was in the lawyer's scripts.
@ad reminded me of the “get vaccinated or fired” call from 2021. They looked under duress. No questions. No recording. Forced Mute.
Who led the call?
More outsourcing to India. Perhaps software dev, PS tech roles are in danger. Whatever they can find over there basically and what needs to scale.
@a8 you might be right based on the email recap. The call itself was slightly confusing!
The email says if your role is impacted you'll participate in a session where you learn next step details.
@a7 if you are "impacted," do not sign anything. You have between 21 and 45 days to review the severance agreement depending on some details. Please consider consulting an attorney with any questions. In addition to severance, you are entitled to apply for unemployment, sign up immediately, explore all options/resources and take some time to process. You have valuable skill sets and experience. Be kind to yourselves, no one deserves this.
@a3 Thought it was reverse. Breakout Call not safe or talk to your manager (maybe/maybe not safe)
Summation, FIS is outsourcing positions in Tech Dev, PS, Consulting Srvs and CIO org and Portfolio Solutions group. Supposedly vast majority of roles will stay at FIS but many will transfer to specialty partners. Some roles will not transition at all and will be eliminated. Flexible Workforce model is how FIS will be working going forward.
After the call supposedly if you are on their list of positions being eliminated you would receive an email or mtg invite to discuss your future.
They're laying off some people, outsourcing jobs, changing people to be contractors so that the business can be 'flexible', some jobs might not be impacted. This affects tech dev, professional services. They claimed they are committed to treating people with respect and dignity, sure.
@OP In a nutshell they want to outsource some roles to a 3rd party company, where they can increase/decrease the number of people to perform a task, such as time to implementation.
They will also be eliminating some roles.
I see the following areas affected:
Project Management, software development are just a few I forsee.
Strategic partnerships will be formed to right-size, just in-time needs across affected groups. Those being RIF'd will receive separate invites. Almost deliberately vague.
Sharing from another post where I put this:
They basically told us what was already discussed on here. They're going to keep essential roles, outsource non-essential roles. And scrap anything they dont need.
So they can upscale and downscale as necessary.
You'll either be in a breakout call (safe) or get a call from your manager (not good), next
It was a ten minute call that talked about things we all already knew. FIS needs to be able to “adapt” when projects end and they will be partnering with a company who can help.
Apparently a follow up meeting will be going out with people who are being RIF’d. Rumor is about 30% straight reduction and a majority of jobs moving offshore. There is a manager’s meeting in 45 minutes.
Essentially nothing was said other than some roles will stay with FIS, some roles will be transferred to a vendor, and some roles will be removed entirely. If your role is affected, you will get another meeting invite soon.
