They cannot be trusted my friend. Tell your story to whomever will listen. I’m sorry it worked out the way it did.
how about no zoom, just an email, automated...from
For the sake of efficiency, the notices will be communicated like this.

I volunteered a year and a half ago... Then I applied for a role above mine in November. I was told they didn't give me the bump because I volunteered to leave and instead brought in a new person that's on a H1B1.
I told them I have a family owned business I can fall back on if I needed and none of my friends and co workers do, that was the reason to volunteer not because I wanted to leave. Yeah, then I have to take training about playing fair. BS

intel is like the titanic
but after hitting 10 or 20 icebergs
they announced the layoffs, don't they have 'the list' already, what are they waiting for and why the wfh week?
why not execute this next Friday, emails in the morning, over, follow up optional zoom week after, after access cut, if you want it...most don't, just take the package, reply 'consent' and call it good.
why the hoopla, let people get on with it already, as soon as possible....I know that literally everyone I talk to, from team to team says, "why should I bother to xyc, abc", what's the point, I don't even know if I'll be working here next month.
Productivity is being lambasted from now till probably this phk honor event.
Don't get me started on the timing of that email, more oblivious decision making.
Is it really this intentional to make people's live miserable?
Quite frankly, abusive and mean, fully honest here.
Given morale and direction of the company, they would see a sh-t ton of departures if they offered it voluntarily. I think my whole team would quit

if you stop taking crack now, you might save a few brain cells
Nike has never offered them in the past, which was always bonkers to me. VSP worked a treat at Intel.
Too many would take it.
Possible, unofficial it is.
Volunteer to VP, you may - risky, though.
If safe your position stays, help they will not.
Then know your desire to leave, your VP does.
Wise, express it as: “Save another who needs role, I offer myself.”
Stuck you remain? Hole, you dig not.
VP decides, true.
Yet strict HR policy + finance list, it follows - wages they cut.
Past 5 years you stay, much PTO you hoard, costly to release you become.
Less risk, that brings.
VPs override sometimes, different game it is.
