Why in the world do they come in throwing their weight around, expecting that to change anything? They also have to be the most disorganized group! Hey, we are doing this this way. Then the next day they come in screaming like children who didn’t get their candy saying “I want it this way!” . Make up your mind because no one even thinks you know how you want it! While we are in first shift why in the world do they have supervisors under the en that work a completely different shift? Then write your yearly’s and mid-years? Fortunately, I have a boss that fights for me but some other shifts are not that fortunate! First shift is completely useless other than they are too full of themselves and want to be heard every morning at pass down.
The issue is now coming in yelling and changing your mind no one can take them seriously. For a huge organization it’s not very organized at all! This by the way is why you don’t hire interns out of college and put them in leadership roles, leadership has to be taught or they will fail to lead properly!

@av why are you in here? to keep people from reporting the truth because people are tired of first shift bull? I mean that's how everyone in this thread knows it first shift because other managers are too professional do be on here and do this. But see first shift manufacturing acts like they think they are a Goliath in Richardson. But at the end of the day if people don't respect you, who's going to want to work for you? You think bullying is the way to do it. Remember Goliath falls in the end. All it takes is a few people to get fed up with that kind of environment.
Backend here Richardson. I can attest to the grotesque behavior of first shift. What drives us nuts the most is they say they want this or that in passdown then you give it to them and they ask where is this. You just told us yesterday you didn't want to hear about that. I second no one has a clear goal in mind for the fab. other friends I have that work in Dallas said its not like that at all there.
@av oh so you’re just some random person on here getting involved and people discussing a matter where they can’t work and do their job because somebody won’t let them? Yet we are the ones who need help? See if it was actually Jeff that would make sense, but to know that you’re some random weird guy on here responding on his behalf you probably need
@as I'm definitely not who you think I am and you should probably seek mental help if you think every random person is someone out to get you.
@ar I am literally on break lol like a real break. not like the one you take. Also, not if we have evidence that you're telling people to keep stuff from your boss! I am assuming that's who this is. I think if your boss knows you're the reason why some things are not done and people can't message each other about getting it done because it would point your direction, you will get into trouble. I hope this is your wake up call
@ap HR is going to tell you to stop whining about everything and get back to work.
@an Says the people who leave whenever they want to get coffee, then lunch, take many breaks and so on. Yeah most of us have worked overtime with y'all. We know. My guess is you're mad that we are finally fed up with first shifts drama and if we all get together and go to HR you're probably going to have to stop treating everyone like trash!
Everyone's trash-talking first shift... but you're all literally on your phones right now instead of doing your jobs. Get back to work.
I think some of us share the same boss on same shift because I see the same stuff that's mentioned in some of the comments. I think the shift lead I have is nice but I can't tell if he's honest about everything because he had a meeting told us he knew nothing about layoffs then some got laid off the next day. He still swears he didn't know that was going to happen. Not sure. but we do see all the drama amongst the first shifters manufacturing side. I mean the other day the guy I think everyones talking about came in yelled and then stormed out. That was it. Like is that the professional environment TI wants to set for itself?
I switched fabs due to this. I can’t say it’s perfect but it’s better
@OP I night but back end. We experience the same they come in for passed down, yellow about everything like the other night tools were down on the engine engineering side. engineering was already working on it.
So they come in yelling why are so many wafers stopped here. One of the supervisors looks over and says because the tool is broke. lol then they say well did you let them know? What you think they don’t know the tall is broke and there’s wafers waiting there. So I agree with everyone else they’re just angry people. I don’t know what’s wrong with first shift. I don’t know. Maybe they don’t like their hours.
Listen, I’m not gonna point fingers lol but one time someone said this rule that someone put in is stupid who did this? It was literally them they put in the rule the first shift person who was saying it was stupid . Lol so I wouldn’t put too much stake in them yelling about rules. It’s obvious some of them are just there to yell. I mean, they literally went off on a rant about this rule and why was it there and so on! I think they’re just angry people because she was literally yelling at herself lol
I work with first shift. manufacturing side talks so bad about the other shifts. We have even heard well they are d-mb so we are doing this. Well, I don't care what they said so we are doing this. It is like high school if even high school maybe more middle school. Like the poster said they think their doors are sound proof! They are not! We here you trash us, trash the other shifts! No one works together in manufacturing side to see the fab move at its best. Its all about them and they are the best, they know what they are doing and so on. Its never this is best for the fab. Then we are expected to some how be able to get it all going . Like if you can't agree at your level and you have each shift with different goals and working against each other sometimes and you are trying to individually prove you know best verses lets do this so the fab flows best you are the problem. How are we at lower levels supposed to do our best and work together if you can't at your level? Can you imagine working under that kind of chaos?
Glad someone is saying something. My whole job basically is to put in rules to help the fab flow. Worked a couple shifts due to training when dayshift first shift comes in and let’s remove this rule they say or if you try to put in a roll, which is your whole job really they will say no don’t do that. then there will be a pile up and the next shift will be like why did you remove that rule or why didn’t you put in a rule at this time or your boss because we have different bosses and we constantly are saying we are trying to but first shift manufacturing keeps denying our right to do so and it’s our whole job!
@aa we move stuff along, follow direction of our real boss who’s on our shift all night. We are under staffed but doing our best in spite of what is thrown our way. You go out for lunch and coffee runs and throw fits all day! Then someone who knows how to direct the fan gives orders or wants to put rules in and you throw a fit it may hurt the tool you are in control of instead of seeing the fab as a whole. You guys literally do nothing but backtrack things then other shifts have to come in and fix it and put new rules in. Then you come back in in the morning and throw your fits, but guess what at the end of the day if you look at our numbers, our numbers are good and the orders worked the people on your shift. They literally complain to our shift that they’re not allowed to put in the rules and they knew they should have and it would have helped the fab as a hole, but you guys got too hurt about your tools so what do you do is the real question
@aa first shift has entered the chat . Don’t be mad because you’re being called out . Maybe do something about it and do better but there you are approving everybody that you really are just children. So I guess thank you thank you for proving our point.
Y'all have trouble pressing two buttons sometimes and call the engineers, who work first shift, in the middle of the night asking how to do it. What do YOU really do?
My friend came to intern from same school as myself. I told the do not take a job here! After showing them all things that have been going on and etc he did not want to stay. He also told others he was going to school with it was an awful environment . No one expects kid gloves or anything but man we do expect you to maintain a level of maturity at management level. I also told everyone stay away from IE as it falls under manufacturing and the environment is awful. It’s totally different on the engineering side .
Thats awful I don't have a boss like that fortunately. I am not sure if we are at same fab and shift. I do work nights. One of our issues is tools down and they yell. Why's all these wafers stuck here. Then our boss says because the tools down. Like if you'd look before you get all angry that would be cool! As the other person said we can't take them seriously because our numbers never matter and now they raised the goals to. Everyone wants to quit and like you guys said first shift doesnt help at all on morale . Like whats the point then if you are just going to scream about everything. Theres this one guy who we all swear just likes to yell or maybe his home life su-ks so he yells here to get it out. So we all just let him have his moment but never can know if we should take it seriously because hes like that all the time. I thought about going to HR a couple times. Then he acts like we can't hear him on our way out talking to his other coworker in her office. Like we hear you your loud and we hear you talk cr-p about our boss. Its an awful environment. We also just lost people on the floor. They said we are not getting anyone else for it either. So everyones fighting about whos going to do any of the extra stuff. All around its becoming an awful place to work.
Agreed! They come in irritated every morning. I swear it’s because they just have to come to work they are mad! This has to be one of the most disorganized organizations ever, which is crazy because they’re so huge!
They often forget that yes they own tools, but that’s not the end goal. The end goal is to move wafers through the fab. If your tools on the board, guess what it just happened. Don’t throw a fit. Don’t be a toddler. No one can take it seriously if you’re like that every day. The morale is really low and we don’t need it.
