VZ has been doing monthly/quarterly layoffs for many years. You just don't hear about most of them because they are small and targeted.
There will never be a ‘rest’. VZ is still employing tens of thousands too many people. It keeps going forever…. So get used to it.

9 years ago, before Hans. He started with a VSP and then small cuts regularly for his whole tenure, in addition to the larger RIF’s that were announced formally. That cadence will continue until Dan gets the structure to his liking.
Admittedly it may not seem so. They however have never been more frequent than quarterly.
What layoffs now? Nothing has been announced. Just chill, dude! So annoying
