Usually - at least the last 6 years - layoffs have been rampant starting end of 4th and in 1st quarter. Haven't heard much about it lately, and not even on here. I'm wondering if it's because Maverick is so far behind schedule and/or they are now under the 100k employee mark?

@e3 Unlikely... I'd imagine at most it'll just be PIP's and small layoffs and/or office closures that will force people to quit. I think Dell's layoff frenzy has c-m to an end finally lol... Well, at least with the regular Feb and Aug large layoffs anyways...
@e3 I honestly doubt that but if so, that gives me a chance to at least earn another year at Dell, which means more severance if I were to be axed
Don’t worry. Mass layoffs are coming. Just being pushed out till May.
My last count before we had all access removed was 97500ISH employees. I can't give a more accurate count than that anymore. We've been under 100k for some time. I didn't see the massive slash and burn at the end of Q4 or Beginning of Q1 like the last 3 years. it may be they are just doing cuts constantly but in smaller numbers to avoid WARN.
Morale is at an all time low. Everyone comes in expecting to be laid off at anytime. Hopefully that changes. Not in Sales -- Not technically in engineering or PG either.
@ax JC has a better chance of putting his stupid T-shirt on right side out than he does succeeding at Maverick. It's a total and complete cluster of mismanagement.
@a5 100% agree on that. I am part of the "project" though played a minimal role in it - our part is "done" - but from little birdies in the office who are more involved with it? It's STILL a cluster and the only, ONLY person who "thinks" it will be "ready" in May is... JC lmfao. Boy will he be royally PI---D when it's not. As if it matters to him anyways, he'll demand a half broken and barely functional project be pushed out anyways, so he can say "I did it!"
As for the new sales comp plan? I'm not in sales but have read plenty about it here and it's total BS. It WILL force people to quit, and those who don't will likely be placed on a PIP anyways... What better way to get rid of people than fu--ing with their pay checks? idk what the ratio is these days but when my friend was FED sales, it was something like 70/30 I believe? 70 being salary and 30 being commission.
For non sales folk such as myself, I'm mid 30's and a 6 year dell vet, in an org that is mostly forgotten about as we don't generate a single penny; but we protect those pennies from bad actors!
@OP it is called constructive discharge. Sales reps will start quiting as soon as they see they can't hit their quotas.
well, when there aren't as many people left, it feels that way.
Only one layoff from my team in ISG support, but they did move almost half the team to another product after laying off most of that team.
@a5 Even if it isn't an utter and complete failure it will significantly under deliver in true dell fashion.
Maverick was destined to fail before it even started.
Its because with the new SCP they expect a mass exodus.Once we hit April/May and people have 0 commsion this will happen naturally.
The easiest way to have people leave is to to fu-k around with their salary.
If maverick doesnt work this will backfire.
