Verizon's own DJT and his off the cuff speeches.
I gave this guy the benefit of the doubt until that call. That was literally the biggest waste of time meeting I've seen. He had the entire company watching. Absolutely zero inspiration, zero plan delivered. No substance, and I'm utterly embarrassed to be an AD at this company right now.
It was an embarrassment. He explicitly said in his beginning of the year video that he was going to present his grand plan on an all hands employee meeting on February 5.
So what did February 5 bring? A long winded rambling speech about AI - which lacked ANY details about specific programs or projects where AI will directly help us "delight customers" or compensate for the 15K people that he fired in November. He bragged about his embarrassing cameo at DAVOS, which again, had NOTHING to do with Verizon or its industry. They he publicly fired a guy in front of the whole company, and made him hug him in front of the whole company. He might as well have given him a wedgey while he was at it.
The only good news was the announcement that the STI is 100%, which could have simply been an email.
Meanwhile, across the company, everyone is still trying to figure out exactly what our budgets and priorities are heading into the halfway point of the first quarter.
He looked old frail and confused up there just babbling on and on about AI.
There was an all-hands? All I saw was just another monologue about AI-AI-AI....pretty tone deaf
Someone should have asked him what day of the week it was. He is either clueless or just does not care what the employees think of him. This guy lacks both focus and vision! The future looks scary under his lack of leadership.
Baffled as to how anyone can call an X-Wing fighter a “space jet” with a straight face, ramble about AI for 40 minutes, then fire someone in front of the whole company. Was surprised he didn’t end it with jazz hands and “that’s all folks.” He needs help and probably should be provided with talking points that aren’t about robots and slides for future company-wide meetings.
A let down.. He said he is going to get a “plan” approved by the Board that how we will remove the bureaucracy in the company.. How the feedback process and decision making will be faster..
he did not say a word on it ..
Was that what that was? What I saw was a public firing, a long drawn out pontification about AI, and smug remarks in response to his public flogging at Davos over his inability to intelligently respond to the Microsoft CEO over his AI poem generation for his wife. He did mention that the stock was up something anyone can get from the business news. He took up 40 Min. and said next to nothing. This guy is retired on the job and living the good life!
