Thread regarding Texas Instruments Inc. layoffs

Company-wide pay cuts

Just so people are aware, TI just substantially cut profit sharing for 2026 onward. We all basically got a large pay cut.

What was the PS% for 2025?

In Europe they don’t even offer RSUs and only recently started offering ESPP. Profit sharing was literally the only thing that set TI’s compensation above competitors. Well, there goes that.

What is the new PFO situation? I quit a couple weeks ago and am wondering what they did this time.

When TI bought the Lehi site from Micron, there were two primary things they unabashedly bragged about--profit sharing and not doing layoffs. I have seen more layoffs at TI than I did in my previous 15 years, and now profit sharing is getting cut.

@d8 Mind sharing the company? I've been averaging 12h workdays and I have finally learned my lesson that TI doesn't value their talent. I'm ready to leave this dumpster fire

I was part of the RIF in September, and that looks more like a blessing with each passing day. I just recently started a new job with better pay, benefits, and hybrid work. The grass is greener elsewhere, and some TI competitors are definitely looking for good talent to hire.

@cr 🙋🏻 That's me! I took a $2500 pay cut but I'm in a MUCH BETTER environment and I wfh Monday and Friday. The grass is greener, people!

This solidified my decision to leave in October of last year as a good move. Hurts because I was at TI for almost 5 years, and the company is a shell of what it was when I started.

Yes, but total comp... stock, bonus, PS is why TI retained people. TI's base was typically 10% lower than competitors but made it up with PS.

As a supervisor I went through this many times with people wanting to leave. The didn't consider total comp, and the stock was the anchor that kept them there.

Occasionally there were those that came to me with a better offer and usually I was able to get them the 5-10% bump they wanted.

@cr I've got news for you. TI does not pay well in the first place. Most of our competitors pay higher base salaries and are in lower cost of living areas. The high bonus is how they were trying to be competitive in the market.

Having said that, I know several people who left for less pay in the past few years, and are extremely happy. Hybrid work schedule and working for a company that treats their employees with dignity and respect. A couple have said it has added years to their lives.

Just TI pays well doesn't mean it gives mgmt the right to yell, embarrass, or create a hostile work environment.

Im leaving this dumpster fire of a company. Senior management think so short term and lacks any drive to innovate. All they think about is where can we cut costs ? Might as well layoff senior management to not drain the rest of the companies energy.

I think we're about to see a mass exodus of people from the company.

@ar I can say with a VERY high degree of confidence that TI will get minimal benefit from AI in 2026.

Big middle finger to employees from Elliott and TI senior leadership. Hope they get what they think out of automation and AI by the end of 2026 because they are going to need it with the way people are responding to this already....

And to top it off the company will be building a new hangar at the McKinney airport to house the two new jets we are planning to buy. These new jets will no doubt have a reduced greenhouse gas footprint. So…yay!!

Just when you thought our VPs couldn't get any d-mber. TI presents: How to destroy a 100 year tech company in just 3 years. I wonder how much "top talent" TI will bring with its attractive mass layoffs and generous pay cuts.

“Worst pulse survey results in years. Significantly below industry averages” “hmmm how can we fix this. I know, cut profit sharing essentially giving everyone a 10%+ reduction in salary!”

50% PFO to receive the current payout is ridiculous. I miss the company we used to be 5 years ago

What a pathetic excuse of a company. Good luck incentivizing the high performers with a reduced profit sharing payout.
