I was hired as an AVP and I see ridicule associated with AVP. What is the backstory?

You ain’t no AVP, quit playin
Bill rogers is an AVP and ruining Truist everyday due to lack of talent. Hopefully you are a better AVP.
AVPs are subject to ridicule. Deal with it
@gk you must be ballin with 13 years of AVP money: play on player!
It goes back a year or so on this thread; someone mentioned they were aspiring to be an AVP and they got unfairly ridiculed for it. Then it just took off like a meme and it’s used to illustrate how silly this all is. “Can’t wait to claw my way up to middle management” as the old commercial used to say.
Ignore it, enjoy your job and career, and just focus on what you can control.
I was hired at AVP and that was 13 years ago.
@eh thanks boomer
OP ignore the AVP remarks. They are immature and unsophisticated ways that some folks are saying a comment was made by someone who is early in their career and hasn’t had enough experience to be commenting on something they don’t fully understand. I'm an AVP and it mf su-ks.
You down wit AVP?
Yeah, you know me!!!!
Well thanks a lot, I have been promised AVP for years and have never gotten it. Now here you come as a new hire and are an AVP. I just may have to stop doing my boss’ laundry and shining his shoes everyday now in protest.
YOU AIN’T NO AVP, SON.
People at Truist build their lives around it, but it means nothing. Only banks give officer titles like that. I would just say enjoy your title, just know it's likely you will never qualify for a real VP job outside in real corporate america.
Doubtful you were hired in as an AVP, that is only reserved for the best of the best and top performers after decades of dedicated work. You can keep pretending you are an actual AVP if you want to, but we all know better.
