Rumors are circulating about potential union buyouts being offered in January or February. Has there been any official communication regarding possible buyouts for union members? Many union technicians are ready to retire or pursue other opportunities, and a buyout would likely prompt them to leave.

Wasn't it '99-2000 when that happened before? We lost whole departments, didn't matter. My boss was riffed and talked with some AD friends said all techs offer ISP Feb, next riff March-April. This is from the former mid-atlantic managers (have heard it from multiple management). Also next contract is take it or good luck. Guess we'll see but the henchman just basically said it's OK we're mediocre. Worst 4th qtr ever, going to have the largest attrition come next qtr too since everyone who got riffed is dropping VZ and it su-ks anyhow. Fidelity is taking one of the biggest hits in it's history, stock will never get to 50 at this rate. Might end up becoming AT&T again. 😕

@a5 what “work group” and at least give out what state you heard these rumors in ?
My supervisor is canvassing tech to see if they would be willing to move to another work group. He said they expect a lot of people in that group to take the package. When I asked when the package is coming, he said soon. He did not say what departments(except the one he wanted volunteers to back fill), he didn’t say if it was a regular, double or enhanced.
