Choosing peace of mind over a payout

I've decided to accept another offer, even though the pay is a bit less for now (10%). Staying here just waiting for a potential severance package is costing me my peace of mind. I need to work somewhere with better structure and respect. My self-respect is worth more than a future payout.

You choosing to leave will not save another person’s job. There was a guy who volunteered to leave. - resigned - hoping for his teammates to be safe and VZ rifed two mored people after his resignation -

Our boss is demanding we have meetings after 5 for 30 min but these meetings are lasting 3 to 4 hours. He talks forever, jumps from one project to the next, confuses everyone, nothing gets done in these meetings and he gets frustrated when one of us says “i have to leave now”.

What can we do? Can he demand this?

I really respect you for your decision and putting value in what that decision is giving you. I wish I was strong enough to do the same.

Good luck in your new role and never look back

The company will always do what's right for them. You could be a wizard in your department, and then axed when cuts come, replaced with cheaper help.

Better to change gears and not let opportunities pass you by. Work/life balance and job quality are important.
