Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Laid off today

Kind of a relief actually. In RMC for those curious. My last day is 1/30…does that mean I will get a normal paycheck on 2/6?

My friend was laid off last year in October and did not get sc--wed out of bonus at least. It was prorated at the target amount , so close to one full year of bonus.

Congratulations and it su-ks losing a job. In a year or two, you will not look back fondly on your experience. You will not remember great times. You will be relieved and think how did you work in this horrible situation for so long.

I am curious if this person gets sc--wed out of their bonus from 2025 we get late February early March

And I would normally love the severance myself in but the job market for my role is HORRIBLE especially for someone like me 45 to 54 age range

RMC is a big org, can you give any details on maybe the reporting group overall?

OP or others, would not suggest using details like dates or business groups/departments. HR looking for any reasons to take people’s severance away.

@d5 Why quit of your own volition if you are on a PIP or have a received an NI rating? You might as well take the time to interview/job search. What's the worst they can do; fire you? It's the likely result anyway, and at least by getting fired, you are eligible for UI. There's no incentive to quit unless you have a job offer in hand.

@b9 Why a pause on terminations for cause? When was the pause initiated? Is a pause at year end standard or is it somehow related to the influx of BS PIP/Needs Improvement strategy to get people to quit on their own?

@b9

The person said they were laid off, not terminated for cause. Big difference.

The timing is quite ironic, given the fact that terminations for cause have been paused until January.

Sorry this happened to you and hope something much better is just around the corner

@OP

I am sorry for your news. I would guess the reason your last day is 1/30 is because that is when the pay period ends. Paychecks tend to cover the prior two weeks so it would make sense that you would cease employment on the last day of a pay period and then get a paycheck the following Friday but others could chime in if they know. What I’m not sure about is whether things like medical or 401k contributions are taken out of that last paycheck. Seems like probably not, but who knows?
