Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Will we sell Mobil 1?

BP sold a majority stake of Castrol to private equity. Do you think we'll make a similar move with Mobil 1?

There are at least twenty companies including ExxonMobil producing and selling synthetic basestocks. Synthetic basestocks are a global commodity.

Kline and Associates updates their synthetic basestocks technology and market every year.

If other synthetics continue to put pressure on Mobil 1's performance, we may need to sell the brand.

How Good is Amazon's Amsoil Oil?

Amsoil oil is highly regarded for its performance and longevity. It is known for its extended oil change intervals up to 25,000 miles or one year, depending on driving conditions, which saves time and money for busy drivers or fleet managers. The oil also offers 75% more engine protection against horsepower loss and wear than required by industry standards, making it suitable for high-performance vehicles and high-mileage work trucks.

Amsoil's high and low-temperature performance is outstanding, ensuring smooth cold starts and minimizing friction. It also keeps engines cleaner by preventing sludge and varnish buildup, which contributes to better engine efficiency and longevity.

While Amsoil is generally considered a premium product, it is not necessarily the best choice for everyone. For typical passenger vehicle use under normal conditions with regular maintenance, it may provide measurable but incremental benefits over quality mainstream synthetics at significantly higher cost.

Ultimately, the decision to use Amsoil should align with your specific priorities:

maximum engine protection and extended maintenance intervals favor Amsoil, while cost optimization for normal service conditions may favor quality alternatives like Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Ultra Platinum that provide excellent performance at lower cost.

Amsoil is not magic, but for the right user in the right application, it delivers on its premium promises and can be worth every penny.

This is such a d-mb question. BP was in financial distress and needs the cash.

EM vaults are brimming and Mobil is like a $2G business with a recently minted strategy with basestovks. Why in the world would we sell?
