Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Tough Times

I get it, times are tough here at AT&T. You might live really far away from a hub and now you have to drive for hours to get here. Maybe you are even sleeping in the parking lot over night. I feel for you. But for the love of God, if you are going to be hotboxing cigs for hours in your car, keep some fresh clothes in a bag and think about using the showers on the first floor. No one should have to smell you all day long.

@b9 We used to take fresh air breaks and managers would actually say if you are not smoking we could not take additional breaks.

@az Need to fire those who consume alcohol, eat too much red meat, don't exercise, don't see a doctor/dentist for years on end. I don't smoke, drink, eat fatty/salty foods. Sugar in moderation but my health cost still continues to climb. I don't think it is just the smokers; it is everyone who decides to roll the dice with their heath.

On a side note, please stop wearing musk in the office, it is offensive.

I like to drop and drag all the open seating. We have an over under bet every day. Start letting it loose on the first cube and see how many cubes you can drag it out. I’ll get the whole aisle yet.

We have 3 smokers in our center that take 3-4 smoke breaks a day plus their regular lunch break. Mgrs say "there is nothing in the contract to stop them" SMH

“ Can we just fire all cigarette smokers immediately?”

Not to mention all of the additional time off they take in the form of smoke breaks.

I don't know which is worse cigarette smoke nastiness or Body Odor nastiness. Some work locations have both. Can we just fire all cigarette smokers immediately? They are costing us non-smokers millions.

HRBPs should take a point for next round, who ever does not take bath daily will be terminated. Everyone will be scanned for bath and fresh cloth daily.

Masking your stank with perfume doesn't help, btw. Clean up before coming to the office. If someone can smell you from 30 feet away, you stink.

The roving pack of Indian guys choosing to vape instead of smoking heaters is actually appreciated. Their lunches already require fumigation in the kitchens.

Smelling your coworkers is the AT&T culture. Our hiring pool is not culturally prone to bathing. If that is a problem for you, Mr. Stinkey says you are free to move on.
