Is anyone else tired of only being motivated by the threat of losing their job? It is absolutely draining to work this way. There is nothing positive left, just constant pressure and anxiety. We deserve better than this.

Few scared employees make it more toxic replying emails on weekend or saying they are up 4 am in the morning these jokers create toxicity weak elements should be fired health hazards
Verizon has had a fear based, toxic culture for a while. At this point anyone who isn’t considering leaving Verizon has no dignity or no other options.
@at right on 👍🏻
I think a few of the people RIFd were made examples. No matter how visible and challenging your projects, technical expertise or prove exceptional work hasty: nobody is untouchable anymore. Be fearful, never say no.
@a2 they down vote because they forgot or Don't understand what job means. Over 30 years and never worred about losing my job.
Fear energizes us!
It’s a toxic, fear-laden culture. I suggest you update your résumé and put feelers out there for something else. Verizon is not a safe place to work if you value job security and a steady paycheck
Dont over do it. Dont stay longer. Dont upskill yourselves. Just become part of the click -
Welcome to what we have all been experiencing for 8 years. Just waiting on our notification of when our last day is and payout amount.
It appears that more people are understanding reality since this latest rif was more public but this is nothing new and one of the reasons people stopped trying so hard compared to the time before the Swedish meatball.
Start preparing your resume and making contacts wherever you want to land next, so you’re ready when your time is up. It’s only going to get worse.

"Man up" this is Corporate America where it's a competitive business environment NOT a Day Care center!
You may not like it, but you do have other options. I've been working with similar work pressures for 40 years in Telecom. High visibility positions with lots of responsibility and tight deadlines. It comes with the territory. Only the strong survive!
Well, nothing positive left.....unless.....I dunno, you count your PAY and your BENEFITS and other PERKS you can take advantage of to better yourself, in the time we have remaining here, as positives. Call me crazy. Be a maker, not a taker. Get after it!
