We simply can't. My group is already stretched thin, and losing even one more person would wreck everything. We’re barely holding things together as it is. How can they even consider more layoffs?

We all know there are still those who need to be shown the door. Sadly.
It is going to be a really challenging month or two.
More people will be gone. Just don't do their work, let it all fall on the floor. Just act like you don't know.
You can lose more people, and you will.
This is all about the merger / liquidity event.... cut costs everywhere even if operationally it causes a mess. Not their problem short term.
Really looks like you are holding the fort while doing nothing. You will keep your job with this rant while real co workers who are working will loose their job. You are burning 🔥 $$$ for no profit. Tells me that there is more room for cuts.
My team was stretched, thin even before the layoff. And I was even taking on the work for someone who was out on maternity leave. I still got cut. The hatchet man views our salaries as dollars he can save. He doesn’t care because cutting cost boost shareholder value.
