@p4 that’s not true, I got my Business Update meeting midday the day before my layoff. I just accepted that it was over instead of agonizing.
MDT favors the February timeframe for Corporate RIF's, MFG RIF's could happen at any time. Basically they are expendable as work runs out. IMHO
@p4 Not true, Business Update meetings for the RIFs in May were scheduled the day prior to the RIF. If the manager didn't get a response to the Outlook appointment within an hour, they were directed to contact the employee via Teams. If no response to that message, they were directed to contact the employee via phone in an effort to make sure the employee saw the meeting request and attended in person the next day. Most of us had morning meetings and received the Outlook Business update meeting around 3 pm the day before.
You can look back on topics and will find numerous threads that outline that process. The idea that "the boss" schedules them 30-45 minutes in advance has zero basis in reality. We actually had people walking around all day knowing they were getting RIF'd but had to wait until mid-afternoon to get the official word because management wanted them to finish their tasks for the day before getting let go.
Find a life, @OP-
“Business Update” meetings are not scheduled in advance beyond ~30 to 45 minutes. While getting RIF’d su-ks, your boss isn’t going to make you agonize any longer than necessary in anticipation of that meeting.
In my past experience with these yearly RIF's, the affected MDT campus is a buzz about 1 week before an event. These trolls posting are just losers. Enjoy your holidays folks.
MDT might not be the greatest but there is no way (0%) they sent notice on thanksgiving break. Lots of trolls out there, how about you give it a break until after new years. For the rest of you, enjoy the holidays, and don’t worry karma will take care of the liars.
