Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Who came up with the idea to get rid of S&AS

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND??? Whoever decided that scheduling can be automated has not spent a single day in this department.

Everyone in the top leadership is deluded and your subordinates are too scared to speak.

Dell inherited from EMC a huge Field engineers force skilled in storage. As they haven't much to do anymore, ISG decided to put them on servicing onsite calls from other LOBs and get this charge out of contractors. the problem the scheduling for them is a nigthmare so there must be a department that manually do this job: S&SA.
working with contractors is far more flexible and easier for TSE.

@cy I agree with this sentiment, but at least on my team, the TSEs are taking the blame for the repeat dispatches.

4 RDR's later "Dear manager, its only my job to deal with the technical side not the scheduling, seems like a system issue which is above my pay grade"

TSE is next in firing line once they start skills based routing

@a4 it’s ongoing. They are trying to get rid of them and TSE need to work on part orders without sched involvement. S&AS are being pushed out more and more.

It’s impossible to work in this environment. We are not even allowed to communicate with each other anymore.

Anyways, I’m done dealing with this BS.
