Thread regarding CDW layoffs

@w1 This mess is of the C Suite's making. A t year ago we paid Sirius employees $500 for holiday bonuses while giving CDW employees $50. The email went out by mistake to the whole company and was quickly pulled back. We really do su-k at equity strategy. People who have come in via a acquisition have been given Reserve Stock Units but we have ignored existing departments except for Directors and above.

@v1 yeah but they work for cdw now - why do we keep calling them legacy sirius workers after all these years??? like when you graduate from high school 20 years ago and still identify yourself by the old football team name. It was an acquisition and they should have all the same benefits /s as we do, the good and the bad. Why would we pay an acquisition more than we get? Same job should be same pay not based on who you used to work for. We all need a better salary structure but I don't agree that acquired people should be paid more for the same job duties, but also saying none of us "legacy cdw workers" are getting a market salary

Salary reductions on the order of 8% were related yesterday.
Potential bonus increase going to from 15 to 25%, but we never see the full bonus payout, by design.
This is a significant reduction in take home pay and riving some employees to seek opportunities elsewhere.

@rn CDW already did the reduction to base pay to Sirius legacy coworkers earlier this year to line up with the cheap salary CDW is paying it's employees. If those coworkers get another cut on top of what was ripped from them earlier this year, there will be a lot of unhappy disgruntle coworkers and may even have to leave for better pay. The job market is tough right now so not sure people will jump ship right away but I bet they'll be looking and leave when they can. All, now's the time to ensure your resume up-to-date!

And what isn’t a RIF will be hit by GCF - with some people being forced to take huge hits to their take-home pay as CDW rolls the difference into bonus. Except bonuses aren’t guaranteed, only get paid quarterly and 401(k) deductions are based on take home, so even your retirement savings get slashed. Look for lots of resignations over the next few months too.

@OP 100% in the new year. Layoffs, resource actions, RIF, right sizing, cost cutting etc are not definitive but a reorg and C suite shenanigans will absolutely happen. Odds are people will leave on their own which BringIT is banking on so they don’t have to pay out….ala flex pto so they don’t pay x days you had banked.

@g4 No. It will be in January, not December. There are lots of moves happening in January.

@b1 to roll out properly in Jan, I assume clean up would be 1st week of Dec. But that is just a guess. Start clean in Jan.

None in December. Prepare for a literal blood bath in January as new org is rolled out. CWS is all hands on deck between Christmas and New Years.
