Why isn't there a hiring freeze after (and before) such huge layoffs? I can see hundreds of openings, some added last week. How does that make sense?

@be lol. Thanks for that clarification on my job description I was laid off from but forced to endure the elitist attitudes of the gen-pop that can't wipe their own as--s, until December 31st.
What is why do you fire the players on a team that went 0-16 the previous year and then replace them with new players hoping for better results
May need employees in one area and not the other. Some of the rifs I heard about was mangers with only 8 employees under them. That’s ridiculous. I was a boss at my previous employer and had 22 people to manage.
Those are part time retail associates jobs that pay minimum wage $18~$20/hour. It like working at Walmart or McDonalds
Simple answer: so more bigger layoffs could be done in the near future. You cannot layoff unless you hire!

For retail, they have stores under headcount and will be hiring to get to the assigned headcount to run their business.
