Does anyone know when the severance checks will be sent or direct deposited? I am trying to figure out that if my last day is 12/19 when will the checks or deposit be dated. Will it be dated 12/19/25. Or 4 weeks later so we get paid in January 2026? It’d be better federal tax wise to be paid in 2026, wouldn’t it? I just can’t tell by the wording in the severance documents. I’ll call them tomorrow, but wondered if anyone here had some insight.

@a5 I had no issue cancelling my upcoming vacation in the time portal. You need to hover directly over the entry being shown in the calendar box.
@a8 put your vzid in all lowercase no capital letters
@a3 ya, I saw that, but I was reading it if you were still on the books in Jan 26, I just wanted a bit of clarification.. thanks 😉
@a5 try again, I just updated my Dec time off beyond the 19th about 15 minutes ago
Severance planned for January 9.
Vacation balances and personal (where required by state law) could be December 19, December 26, or January 2 depending on work state.
On the plus side, I’m going to lower my phone bill when I switch to T-Mobile.
I’m already blocked out from canceling upcoming vacation time so I can receive it in a buyback.
You have 45 days after your departure date to sign the severance agreement. I am thinking this would be a way to guarantee a 2026 payout.
In the Severance information sheets, they specifically say that your severance and any unused vacation time will be paid within 4 WEEKS of your separation date. So, if your last day is 12/19, then you would get paid on January 16 or sooner.
They have up to 45 days to process it, but usually it's within 30 if you sign your severance agreement as soon as you are able. So yes, it'll be 2026.
I took VSP and was off books 12/20 and I got my check in January.
