Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

So nice of VZ letting us keep our employee discount for 52 weeks after our last day

I guess they are truly looking after the employees being laid off. That is why I am moving all my 6 lines to T-Mobile. Based on my initial calculations it will come out less than what I am paying with the employee discount. Let that sink in :)

Good luck trying to get them to honor that discount. Had to call in every month to ask for the adjustment but it was just passed on to the following month. Tried for 6 months to correct, bailed to TMO.

f*ck VZ and their "gracious" offer to extend the discount. I hav 8 phones, 3 watches, an iPad an FWA on my epp account. I'm telling my family to move their lines to tmobile asap.

@a5 that and they are saving way more in salary/benefits than they will lose in revenue. They don't care if you port. I doubt they even include EPP lines in the financials.

@a2 you realize it doesn’t cost VZ $1k per phone right…? You realize not everyone will port out their service right?

About 50k post paid lines lost (3-4 lines per employee family, of 13k laid off employees) is THE problem.
Costs Verizon at least $50m in CAC (customer acquisition costs, a free phone is a 1000$s) to replace 50k new lines.

Wonder why only for 52 weeks, and why they aren’t grand-fathering this discount forever, though!? If they did, some or many ex-employees may keep the service with Vz. Once the emotion of this week subsides.
Now that it’s only for 52 weeks, they are telegraphing you to (take your time, but) leave. Not smart thinking on Vz.
