As for me, I can’t see the silver lining in any outcome. I used to think I’d be relieved to be let go with a bit of money, but now I’m just anxious about what happens next if I am laid off.

Hang in there! I went through this very thing back in 2023 and I know exactly how you feel. Leaving with a big check sounds nice, but the few months it took me to find a new job were the worst months of my life. No work and a big check in the bank and absolutely miserable. The what ifs will drive you crazy. I stay in contact with many of the folks who went through this when I did, and all of them landed new jobs, some just took a little longer than others. I wish you the absolute best luck!

Why can't the new CEO wait to see how AI boosts efficiency and profits, before laying off 15-20k pawns? Absolutely ZERO justification to severely alter the lives of others right now! You're already net profiting BILLIONS before AI! Want to streamline efficiency, great! Start with cutting the bottom of the barrel performers and stores! Thats justifiably the right move! American greed at its core!
