Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

February demolition?

If you’re a manager you have probably already been asked to provide numbers.

I expect at least a 10% cull across all/most teams in February before the end of year reviews.

Getting rid of many managers and collapsing them to ICs and creating teams with 1:20 or 1:25 even, was done to make it easier to give up headcount. It was always going to be the next phase. They are speeding up the next phases of cuts

I can attest over in CMS we have dead weight former managers who cannot lead a program to save their life. Burdened with mostly worthless PM with few exceptions while the technical people have to carry the burden of doing the technical work and carrying programs.

I think it'll be business as usual... ISG, CSG, Sales, Tech Support/IT... I think that a LOT of the Sr. Managers should have been let go rather than demoted to an IC however. My manager is AWESOME! Or was my manager anyways..

The thing is is that, my director/manager has 20 ppl under them right now however, they are juggling a team on Corp side AND Fed side. They never involve themselves with our little Fed team though so, they have NO idea what we are doing kinda sorta. . My previous manager whom was demoted to IC keeps them up to speed but like, our Fed team is quite small and we happen to manage some of the most vital equipment.

MAV is postponed for a quarter - there's a chance this cull will be less than what it should have been

There is nothing wrong with office flirting unless TD is married. Those two reps getting promotions and raises I bet.

All about pleasing Wallstreet at the end of the day. Executive greed is what I’m seeing play out at everyone’s expense.. and that’s not going to fix the problem…

All the Dir’s and Sr Dir’s made into IC’s should have pay reduced or let go. They aren’t actually contributing much. We need workers, not defunct leaders.

Yep. As you can see with the stock drop, it was always a BS strategy.
