The reality is what Verizon is doing is pretty messed up they are laying people off because they realized hiking pricing and relying on networks doesn’t work, so they layoff 15k people to make up for the losses. Well who do you think made those decisions it was the people at the top. Employees needed to speak out and walk out. People are scared and don’t say nothing but look at the end result!! So if people act out and be disruptive I fully understand. They fire people before the holidays speaks to fu-k the employees

@ad there are ways around it so they don't have to report
@a1 and leave them in so much overdue compliance violations as possible.
@a8 so true ! I work there from 2000 to 2018 !
Layoffs are what caused this issue terrible customer service from outsource rep ran customers away no one wants to pay the highest prices to speak to rude reps
Yet hans gets an extra year of 29 million after sinking the company. How many employees could keep their jobs with that money
@ad they will post them the day they lay people off.
The company will keep them on payroll for 30-60 days depending on the state to satisfy the WARN requirement.
@ad they get around that with the severance (which includes the cost of your benefits)
Totally agree. They have reps slam customers, causing them to call customer service. Then they get an outsourced robot sounding agent who is clueless and doesn’t care, which causes a bad experience making them to switch providers. I don’t blame them. Instead of firing American reps and adding stupid little fees to make up for loss, why don’t you hire US reps and take care of your existing customers before they all leave. Lower the prices to be more competitive and maybe you’ll gain more customers to make the money back. It’s not rocket science.
Still nothing on WARN tracker.. aren't they supposed to publish the data 60 days in advance or so?
I'm focused on getting laid off so I can spend holiday time with my family. This company makes it seem like working for them is some sort of privilege. That may have been true at one time, but now all I do is answer d-mb questions from the international bye for now team, assuming I can even understand what it is they're asking. Please just tell me I'm gone now. Don't drag it out. Don't say "Oh we're letting you go, but after the holidays." No fu-k that. Do it now. Give me my severance and fu-k off.
I left years ago after a 2+ decade career at VZW. Many of the people who left with me helped build the company into what it was/is. I realized around the time I opted in that they could care less about employees. I had so much information saved in terms of docs on projects, plans, promos, etc. and no one wanted the information. I only said goodbye to a few of my true work friends.. no on really called so say. .hey great job for 20+ years. Just logged out and turned in my laptop and it was like I had never worked there. Wishing the best to everyone. Just know, there is life after Verizon. I am much happier now!
Getting fired from an employer is not ideal. It creates a great deal of stress during a time when you should be focused on spending time with family.
Remember to try not to act out. They will fire you to get out of paying your severance. Do what you have to to get through your last days, and most importantly do everything that is asked. Make them pay you!
It’s not ideal but if you are going to leave atleast leave with a bag of money on the way out.
