Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Will Warn act be in play?

Please don't rip my head off for this post. I have read the act and the "single site/location" of 500 or more employees confuses me. Im not a damn lawyer. I'm in a state that falls under the Federal guidelines of 60 days. Any wisdom if Vz will have to follow this law? (Bracing for incoming fire)

Warn doesn't have to be 60 days before the layoff announcement. It gives employees 60 days from the layoff to end of payroll. Number of days depends on the state.

Yes they will follow it. WARN is useless when it comes to advance notice of incomming layoffs because Verizon will file their WARN notices after they announce layoff internally.

The way around it is to tell you that you’re laid off and they are paying for the next 60 days (or whatever the timeframe in your state is).
