Band 6 engineer, 170 base… is it too high to get kicked out?
@cx I am band 6 and my base is 113k - you just making up numbers?
Band 6 in LM - FINALLY broke 100
Any info on finance bands?
Band 6, 6 years in band, 3 lateral roles w 3 titles; $139K.
There are no ranges solely by band.
Ranges are by job title/function and geographic area.

@b2 same here
Im band 6 making 140k + bonus
We should form a union.
Now it worries me… I’m band 7, making higher end of the pay range
Band 6, Base $175.
I'm way underpaid
Wow, as a 7T employee with a little tenure, I don't even make 70K. I knew I was low, but HR insisted I was within range for my business unit. I know that I'm not based on extensive research and seeing these numbers just confirmed that. Yes, I perform and exceed. I voluntarily took a new, lateral position as part of last year's restructuring and my salary was never adjusted, as they said I was within that range. 😡
Numbers have been going down the last few years, variable comp is what you get at V5+
Band 7: $90-160k + 12%
Band 6: $150-$230k + 20%
Band 5: $180-280k + 40% + RSUs
I'm a Band 6 making $180k before bonus. Yeah, I'm worried
@b4 no H1 visa, wireless gnt... heard mostly rumors and glassdoor showing 175k avg base but management laughs when asked to re-evaluate to be fair and no support from managers to HR...
@b3 zone 2 or 3 are referring geographical TX or NJ or CA.. or within the range as wireless side 6v ranges seen are 120k to 238k and zones are within the range equally divided in 5 parts each zone as ~23k ?
@b2 Are you on H1 visa?
The bands go way lower in wireless (wireline here) 7T $115k, cost of living zone 2 of 5 (so no adjustment). I’ve seen people self-report $135k in a zone 3 of 5 (15% modifier) as a 7T, and some 6V titles (such as principal engineers of software development) break into the low 200s for the advertised pay band in Jobs Hub.
currently 120k as band-6 in GNT with total 15yrs exp...sounds like way underpaid...
Making 145 base as Band 6
@a9 no way
I make $89k base in Florida at band 7T
That band 7 saying that it starts at 90k is very wrong, is more like 55k. The range is more like 55k-120k for the band, it has the largest variance of pay because it has hourly and salary people in that band. It varies even more based off the job title.
Not true. They're dependent on title, department, org, tenure, etc. I'm band 6 and nowhere near 140 base.
All you have to do is look at job postings for pay ranges. They're so huge, it's useless to ask a question like this
If these numbers are true, I am underpaid
good discussion, now we see how things fluctuate.
they do make exceptions, dont trust them what they tell u
For band 5-6 depends on title and specific job function. Example, Ops Support has lowered entry point than Product Management or Enablement. FPA also different.
Band 7 in FL I was making 80k
In 2008, Band 5 started at $220k. VZ has continued to lower pay over the years.
Band 6$120-$218
Base salary only:
- Band 5: 180 to 220
- Band 6: 140 to 180
- Band 7: 90 to 140
