Will the RIF impact any contractors, or just employees?

@a7 really? As a contractor I know many employees who work very hard- disappointing to hear someone say that.
@a7 there are different kinds of contractors @ Vz. Generally as a contractor your paycheck comes from a consulting company like Infosys or Cognizant . As a contractor you are not getting Verizon benefits or the 401 k match. The Verizon manager does not do your review- although they can provide feedback to your performance to your contracting company. There are contractors who get no discounted benefits from the contracting company and other contractors who are full time for the contracting company and get employee discounted benefits-i.e. getting discounted benefits not paying full price, getting 401k match. etc. It can get more complicated that this but in theory look at who your pay check is from.
@ak let's say not under sales, marketing, or IT
@aj what org
Both. Contractors have been notified in my org and several employees.
You people do realize that cutting contractors DOES show savings on the books and vz has cut contractors in the past along with RIF of employees. Who’s D-MB now!?
Why do people feel the need to be such je-ks in response to people's questions? Some of us have never been in this position before to know how this may be going down and are asking for insight from those who might have it.
I'm a contractor at the corporate office in Irving; over a year now. I too am wondering if this may include contractors. My colleague who is an FTE of over 40 years now say that sometimes RIFs have impacted both contractors and employees and other times it has not. My AD still has not heard either way. People are just trying to prepare for what is coming but some feel the need to be d-cks. Unfortunate.
Contractors are the only people actually working, how could they let them go ?
OP - Do you know what is the different between Contractor and Employee ?
I am glad someone is d-mber than me
Oh my gosh there are some not so bright people who work at VZ
Geeezz...the word Contractor derives from Contract!!!! Get it?
