Just got a note of this ilk from a colleague recently and this was foremost in my mind. There's something incredibly gross about being forced to write a note saying you've "decided to retire" when in fact you're being pushed out and they want to keep it on the DL.
I hope they make it worth their while to make those statements. Otherwise, just fire my a-s and save me the humiliation of telling white lies to cover for your stealth layoffs.
"Let...IBM make the decision to let you go." Been doing this since Oct 2024 layoff. IBM keeps insisting on sending paychecks, so they get cashed. Consider this 12 months of severance pay so far and counting. Way better than what others are receiving (3 months severance).
Why leave voluntarily ? You are solving IBM problem. Let the incompetent crowd running IBM make the decision to let you go. Hoping, they make a mistake that allow to make IBM pay big. Like some kind of discrimination.
