Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Has Wells started reducing the severance amount?

Has Wells started reducing the severance amount? I’ve heard that they will no longer offer the 2 weeks of severance per year if service. If that’s the case, I’m out of here.

The severance plan can be changed on a yearly basis, there is no “government interference”.

nope can’t be changed without government interference, the last time it changed (10 years +) was because the government forced them and with this s$&@ show going on ain’t nothing happening…

I am sure they really don’t want to pay severance so they are pushing as many in office days as possible for all so you will quit on your own.

I am in protest and will show up for every day i have to and do my job until they give me the severance. No way will i leave any money on the table and the job market isn’t great os i will wait for severance

@an before 2017, I’m sure it was one year for three weeks. They reduced it to 2 weeks around 2017.

@aa When exactly? Like 25 years ago? It’s been 2 weeks for forever

It was reduced from a month per year up to 2 years to 2 weeks per year up to 1 year as this is the industry standard.

@a3 Glad you were able to make the break with your sanity and severance in place! Best of luck on your next adventure.

although the 2026 benefit book won't come out until Jan he has published a summary of changes. none of which say anything about changes in severance

just gonna have to wait for the benefits book to come out early January but this far I don't expect any changes. lots of fear mongering about it the last couple years though.

I was just laid off this week and it's the standard. I had read a couple of years ago that CS was wanting to reduce this, but then covid happened and he had to put it on hold since he was busy with other things.

I wouldn't be surprised if the severance was reduced soon - not sure they could change for the remainder of this year, but could as of 1/1/2026.

So glad to be out of the toxic place that is WF!
