Understood, but lots of folks have meetings already scheduled tomorrow with clients, vendors, staff. So what do we do when we get a email from hr?

@af You cant say that to them, with no back up. Share what you know with the class then.

This is the last I will say on the post - argue and troll all you want. I shared what I know

  • I never said DE was sending both emails! DE will say it is a rough day. The next email will say how it will play out.
  • When I said call, I mean a call or Zoom. Not an individual email
  • Yes, international is different, I'm talking US (but international will be hit too)

All the best tomorrow. It will be a sh-t day and take a long time!

What time exactly are these “meetings” happening? I have my school run from 12-1, and than back to back meetings,

Why will he email twice at 6 and 11 before commencing . Doesn't seems right.
One email and then followed by invite or layoff email

No calls, except a link to a meeting invite

Internationally, things are done differently. Each European jurisdiction has its own process. Some international jobs have reporting lines spanning different jurisdictions. Those who are international employees are hired by local subsidiaries and are subject to the laws of those subsidiaries' countries, which is why the international cuts will roll differently. There will still be "business reasons" to dismiss those employees, but it may take longer depending on specific location.
