Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

For those of you who have been let go......

How long did it take for the toxicity to leave your system? When did the happiness start again in your life? I'm going though the 5 stages, but can already tell I am much more calm and don't need the bottle anymore. I'm thinking it just gets better from here. Money? Yep need that, and it is inducing some stress into my life, but it feels much different than the environment at work while I was there.
At least on the money side, I can take personal action to fix it. The office environment? Nope. Just had to endure.....

I was there 37+ years and it did take me almost a year to be at peace with how things ended (not on my terms). When I look back at how it was towards the last few years I feel relieved that I am no longer there. Mostly it was the 'new' attitudes and lack of respect that I could not get used to. I am now retired and loving life. It's definitely a process to switch into a non-working routine but providing you have passions and keep yourself busy and active you will be happy with your new life. I am lucky I have the opportunity to retire at a younger than expected age so I do count my blessings. I wish for the best to everyone maneuvering through similar changes. While it might be hard to deal with change, many times, things work out better. Stay positive and strong.

I was at a community service event when I got the call. And told within 1/2 hour your access will be shut off and you have to complete these tasks before that happens. The last time WF caused me stress. But it was a doozy. I made it home with just minutes to spare. Finished the tasks, and relief immediately set in.

Happiness started as I was being told by my manager that I was displaced. Toxic culture...toxic leaders...

It took me two years after 36 years of employment. I am now happily retired and Wells Fargo is in my rear view mirror. I finally transferred my 401k and Cash balance plan out of Wells Fargo. There is a great life away from this place!

Instantaneously. As soon as the call ended the tension in my shoulders released. Although I am slightly stressed about my job prospects, it’s really nothing compared to the daily dread of logging on.

Hired making more and a better role. But I still return here because it was such a large part of my life. To those behind the political games the chickens will come home to roost.

I am still feeling it occasionally after several months. Still feeling some anger, but it's fading. I am not angry about getting laid off so much as angry how sh---y WF got in such a short amount of time.

Took me two months after I was displaced to feel well rested and relieved of no longer fearing being laid off every day

I have been gone about a year. Love my new job. I’m a 15 minute drive to my new office. I’m sleeping through the night without the need of Benadryl or sleeping tablets. I’m still a little angry, but not because I was let go, but because Chainsaw is still there and inflicting a toxic work environment to suit the board of directors.

Immediate relief, followed by months of PTSD for all the stress they inflicted on me in the last few years. Took me over a year to get completely over the anger.

Took a couple of weeks but it is so much better! 5 months in and took some time off to reset and recharge my mental health, sleeping better and I am loving life! Starting to look for a job now with a renewed sense of energy!

I was displaced back in June and have been pretty happy since. I still hear from former co-workers and the issues they are dealing with (lack of support). I'm so glad that I no longer have to deal with the lack of support from management and the office politics!

Was displaced in Feb. and found a job (through my contacts) 3 weeks in to the 60-day notice. I negotiated start date to April. I think the shock of being displaced wore off in about a week or so and the rest of the notice period was a vacation. New job is great and it’s remote! Less money for sure, but much happier. Wells Fargo was awful.

I was happy the day it happened. I was relieved when I was able to get a better job a few months later.

I figured doesn't matter as long as I'm working for the man. I won't feel better until I retire.

Almost all jobs are similar in one way or another.

After about 2-3 days the lack of BS sets in and then about one month later the healing completes.

It starts immediately, first effects 3 days. End of the first 30 days, you will forget of the bondage and psyops that WF put us all through.
