Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I wonder if John knows

Just how many of his VP’s have said they don’t agree with his email….

Our VP made a point to say they didn’t agree with it on today’s Town Hall. Not the first time I’ve heard it from leadership either. In fact, I haven’t heard a single person support it.

They wanted to distance themselves from his opinion.

Anyone else?

How is this guy still CEO?

He’s lost the entire company from the top down.

He’s gotta go!

Easy for them to say. Stankey probably tells them to. Good cop, bad cop.

as the current prez demonstrates--when all you're good at doing is bankrupting businesses, the best thing that you can do is lay-off, fire, or surplus people.

it's a pitiful existence for all involved...makes you wonder why anyone would ever vote for (or support) it.

I work in Learning & Development, formerly known as T University. As a program manager I worked with many of the level 5 appointments and heard their feedback directly during leadership development programs - they have no idea what John is talking about the majority of the time. They told me his blustering address made no sense at all and were counter intuitive when compared to their previous employers, education and the current tech company industry. His guest speakers were always poorly received. We had to delete the majority of survey responses or resend surveys to cherry picked participants. Women were the most critical, but the men explained that placating John ensured they would profit personally even if the customers and rank and file employees suffered. Sad.

They don’t care. As long as the headcount keeps dropping.

Maybe the VP knows something. They wouldn’t normally say anything against a sitting ceo on a town hall. Career ending. He must know something or doesn’t care.

Well he knows his CMO wasn’t exactly thrilled with the reaction to the presence report :)
