Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Sycamore Rumors and Changes

Things I’ve heard and seen posted on their sites. I’ve definitely heard about the remote workers being laid off if they don’t relocate, and the multiple support center layoffs. I’ve also heard about 2-3 days back to the office, not 5, but I guess we’ll see.

  • Removal of FTO
  • If you aren’t at Walgreens when bonuses (if we even get them) are paid out in November, you won’t get one.
  • Switching to Business Casual, no jeans or sneakers.
  • 10/20: Remote Employee town hall informing them to relocate or they will lose their job.
  • 10/21: 10% support center workforce reduction
  • January: 30% support center workforce reduction
  • January: 2-3 days in office but also heard it may go to 5 days in office

bonus is protected by old agreement, maybe changes for future years

@d3 I would expect Sycamore to eliminate just about any employee benefit they can. They're going to take advantage of a less than favorable job market as they cut from the employees remaining after upcoming "workforce adjustments".

@OP Regarding support center layoffs, turnover is so high, if you just stop hiring, the workforce reduction should happen on it's own. At least for the worker bees.

@d3 That’s what I was thinking too. The only ones I’ve heard from multiple people are the remote workers being impacted, the other support center layoffs in October, and the RTO being changed in Jan.

The removal of FTO doesn't make sense. The reason companies have FTO is so they don't have to pay for days not used. Employees don't accrue vacation or sick days on FTO.
