Nothing wrong with layoffs as long as the def Met team does not get laid-off !!!
They only announced layoffs till 75k. Though i believe they are seeing if natural attrition +rto +a few smaller cuts will get there.
Past that idk
Nothing wrong with layoffs as long as the right people get laid-off !!!
@OP So you're telling me there might be a chance?
It’s a step in the right direction. It’s not going to stop or start the layoffs. I think we’re getting tangled in a web of folks that it will be difficult to untangle. So the odds of an out and out sale or closure are far lower the more get involved. In that sense, yes it’s reducing chances of massive layoffs.
they let Al keep his SAS books
The $5 billion is for the CEO and VP mansions and yachts, not for you.
Has any one eaten mangoes with tajin ?
Yes they will hire us now!
75k is for 2025, not changing.
Wait til you see the 2026 target which are being worked right now. Bet you Intel will be around 55-60k in 2026.
more bailouts
the US owes 38 trillion and
even more in unfunded liabilities
sure why the heck not
it's just monopoly money now
Whaddya think the $5B is for?
I don't think so and quite frankly it shouldn't. Intel needs to deliver on the headcount reductions it told the street.
@a9 Umm, yes we are. Panther Lake and Nova Lake are in house.
No, we aren't even fabricating our own chips. Foundry is still not pulling its weight.
@a1 short term target or long term target? AMD has ~28K. NVD 36K
Nvidia can buy Intel 5 times over
Probably not. 75k is the target.
