Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Dish on your manager (no names), what’s the worst they did?

The worst my manager ever did was ignore a serious issue I flagged for weeks, then acted surprised when it blew up and blamed me. It was infuriating to watch someone dodge responsibility while making my life harder.

@ax To be honest, there’s very little trust in what our UX VP says among our team. Too often he seems unaware of how his words come across, both in content and delivery… and it’s nearly impossible to keep track of the constant distortions, misleading statements or lies. Is that supposed to be a standard for VPs at Pepsico S&T ? I doubt it.

Talked about my disability in front of the team after I had told her in confidence. This was after I asked about my review. She doesn't like to be questioned unless it's by young adults in their twenties. She used this opportunity to mock me during a team meeting. She also took the side of the team lead instead of listening to the team as a whole or myself. This team lead lies, which is factual. This manager and her director boss lied to my face refusing to see the truth when other department leadership saw it and gave me glowing reviews. They were on a mission to destroy me and this company allowed it to happen without bringing me into a professional conversation to discuss it like a mature professional. Worse part about this is the direct boss is in leadership at church what a hypocrite. They make fun of people, twist truth for their benefit, and enjoys ruining someone's career by day without a second thought and complains about other leadership openly and brags about it in our internal team meetings then goes and leads a group at church at night as a so called mentor. The leadership in this department caters to young professionals its nauseating. they can sc--w up so many things because they are learning and keep their jobs and get praise after praise after praise regardless if they deserve it. Meanwhile most of the older returners have been let go or quit due to poor treatment.

my first manager at Pepsico was a real godsend to me and the team, and since I moved to S&T over a year ago from IT , it has been a bumpy ride dealing my new manager´s mood swings, poor planning and questionable conduct

Mine lies constantly to internal and external stakeholders. This person is always working an angle. I did something on their request about a year ago and I felt slimy doing it. I had a conversation about how I don’t operate in that manner. I am certain that I received a poor review as small negatives were listed on my pdr with none of the positives highlighted. I would never report this or cause any issues as your manager’s personal opinion carries so weight for raises and promotions.

@ap There are numerous well documented troubling cases of senior leaders in DPS/DPA violating PepsiCo’s Code of Conduct. When team members speak up, they are often the ones penalized and silenced under excuse of layoffs. Unless employees begin holding PepsiCo accountable through legal action, nothing is likely to change. The S&T environment has become toxic and unhealthy and is dragging Pepsico down ! Speak Up process is broken and cannot be trusted!

I once told my manager who was a senior director on DPS that our ROI marketing results were being altered by the business leads to better align with historical results. This is textbook fraud. She told me to stop complaining and I was included in the next round of layoffs with no explanation. I know for a fact my job function was not eliminated.

My manager’s version of career growth: promise a promotion, drain every ounce of work out of me, then reset the trap with another ‘goal.’ It’s less a career path, more like a hamster wheel.
