Outsourcing will make AT&T great again.

This is true. That’s why you are seeing companies currently laying off thousands of people all at once. Originally the prediction was 50% unemployment by 2050. That timeline has been moved up dramatically.
Most people will be on UBI and poor. I don’t know how this ends but we will go through a period of darkness.

I agree with the need to find balance.

Funny thing though is America has thoroughly benefited immensely from others. We’re by far the richest country in history with a massive wealth gap.

Coincidentally, there is also an increasingly massive wealth gap within this country between the rich and working class.

How do you square that. America is doing just fine. The poor folks who benefit from outsourcing and H1Bs are not the real issue, are they? We’re just fighting for the scraps.

Too much Globalism/Tariffs/Isolationism doesn't work!

Need to strike a balance where it benefits the USA! US taxpayers money is not meant for charity.

"Needs of the business" under certain rules imposed by the US government.

Globalism is dead or dying. Just look at UK, Ireland and Europe with their illegal migrant crisis.

You always have someone else to blame.

H1B, Outsourcing, Indians, DEI, RTO, Liberals, Science….

You need more mirrors.

Have you considered the high cost of tariffs. Att has to find a way to reduce costs. Meaning jobs are not being created because of the consequences of tariffs.

Is AT&T selling phones in India? NO.
Should we be sending our jobs there? NO.
Should we be having H1B programs here when tax-paying Americans cannot find work? NO.

The ONLY people who don’t think a bill along these lines is a good idea is a corporate bootlicker that DONT pay any sort of taxes. The truth is, H1B and off shore workers do not pay into the American tax burden at the same levels that regular Americans do. At the end of the day, WITHOUT argument the middle and lower working class has carried the burden in never ending higher taxes YEAR AFTER YEAR. The American worker has been subsidizing this outsourcing for decades, and that is why there was so much pushback against trumps tariffs. The powers that be, do not want that tax subsidy paid by American workers to end. The TRUTH is, this bill and Trumps tariffs on India did NOT go far enough in the least. By my calculations in lost tax revenue due to outsourcing and going forward, a tariff of 45% on all foreign “call center” traffic would be a break even MINIMUM. That is the absolute minimum it would take to cover the gap that is being put on American workers for JUST lost tax revenue. Don’t even get me started with H1B abuse, and as others have pointed out, this H1B abuse was being exploited way before this offshoring scam. This bill is window dressing to the real issue at hand and does not even come close to mitigating the real loss in tax revenue and wages. It’s actually laughable.

I agree. @a3 is contradicting himself. Offshoring/outsourcing only proves that working remotely works.

@a3 Americans should be able to find jobs in the USA and not have to compete with other countries. If the job can be sent to another country there is no reason why it cannot be done remotely. H1B has been an issue wayyy before RTO became a thing.
