Outsourced: Job not comparable

Has anyone been successful in obtaining a severance package through the appeal process of the Severance Plan Administrator?

I have been mapped to a third party and received an offer letter. The description is vague however the responsibilities are objectively much greater than my position at Wells.

The handbook states if job is not comparable then severance package is warranted.

yah you or someone in the same situation already posted about this - unhappy because they have to get a license of some kind for the job with the third party and wanted severance instead?

You can try to appeal based on the licensure requirement but as @az has said - job has to be more than 50% different than current. taking on additional/"greater" responsibilities won't meet that hurdle.

This is from my personal history, so take it as you like. Historically, the new role needs to be 50% different or greater to trigger severance. There's usually enough overlap in most job descriptions. My guess is when they did the mapping, it fell below that threshold. But you should ask if it's not feeling right.

One would think it best to have an employment lawyer review your situation.
