Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Saul's laughable Comments on Tech Town Hall

"I don't know why we feel the way we feel and we are exploring what we have to do to change these feelings". this is so laughable I don't know if he is just hiding behind a rock or he has his head in the sand.

75% of the surveyed peeps are saying they are seriously considering leaving Wells Fargo, we are down in percentages for recommending Wells Fargo to others as well as confidence that Wells Fargo will deliver in career objectives.

what an honest opinion Saul? This is why you and Wells Fargo are both losing confidence:
*Constant unknown when and who will be displaced next and lose our livelihood.
*No direct understanding of who will be chopped, dedicated your life to Wells Fargo? they don't care, the hardest worker on the team? Chopped!
*Constant messages of we are only wanting new hires in growth areas or require new talent to relocate to these growth areas. Relocation isn't working, listen in - even if I was in office and my team was in office at another "growth" location I am still remote from my team! I can do the same if not better work if I were remote from home then if I were remote in office from my team.
*Constant messages that agile doesn't work in remote environment. Shocker it has been an many teams outside and inside of Wells Fargo right now. Agile doesn't mean we just get the same things done faster... senior management should take an Agile course to understand Agile is mostly for protection of the team to focus on certain tasks without being pulled into management fire drills and lose traction on what matters most.

The problem is the corporate cultural mindset compels then to throw more virtual paperwork at every problem they encounter. They are so locked into ancient knee jerk responses regulations they can't see any other way.

As a pro-Agile person that has experienced this effort in other organizations... There are a lot of issues with how this has been implemented. At a high level, we do a lot more paperwork and virtual paperwork (there should be a line in timesheet for "surfing in Jira") now than with waterfall. Most banks are going this route... They can't thin the bureaucracy with Change control and project management to make any gains with Agile. Add in our trainwreck SecDevOps process and constant enterprise level tech projects and my team literally can't predict 15% of what will actually be in a Sprint. And then we log hours in JIRA and Stamp? Except in Stamp we aren't allowed exceed our allocation %? My Stamp is such pure fiction, I might win a Pulitzer

Half the people here don’t know what agile development even means, let alone do it effectively or tailor it to our apps. They just think it is an excuse to make shortcuts, which is why our code keeps failing and our environments are c-ap.

Agile will not work unless they stop making a release so f’ing hard with all the BS secdevops c-ap. 2 week sprints is laughable at least in our group. And quit hiring agile coaches, they are the impediment of our development. Trying to paint all technology as the same here will not work! What you should look at is better segmentation of PAA to HRA and the rest and tailor the agile approach that way. It is impossible to plan, develop, test, and get all approvals in a 2 week span.

It is totally OK if Saul needs to take a sip of his coffee during his meetings. Just do not stop the flow and state "I am taking a sip of my coffee now". Just do it. Sip it. LOL. Lot's of speakers take a quick sip of their water, or other drink while presenting.

D&I is a distraction. A completely insincere effort at virtue signaling.

This Town Hall is either hilarious or pathetic, depending on your perspective. The bank is under water, the most fundamental elements of Technology are not in place and there is no means to get them in place. The leadership is not up to the challenge in the best of circumstances–and with the asset cap, the layoffs, and the pandemic, the confluence of circumstances is like "building a house in a hurricane." So–does it make sense to spend the majority of the time on D&I?

at the present time are you seriously considering leaving Wells Fargo? 75% favorable means that 75% are seriously considering...that is how I read it.

The college is a joke. A list of links using technology that we cant download that isnt linked to a dev plan to make me more desireable as a retain or promote.

Its literally a list of links for pluralsight

I think the way the question was framed, the results were that 25% of the surveyed people were saying that they are seriously considering leaving Wells Fargo. Still a very high number, though.

On the 75% seriously considering leaving, he spun that as "75% answered favorably" so I think he was saying only 25% are considering leaving. Who the heck would know though as the question design was as bad as his explanation.

If you really shared the plan, if there is one, you might set some people at ease. As much as they claim to be transparent, there is so much uncertainty that the employees are constantly on edge. So what do you expect?
