Yes. I am. And I would imagine there are others. I am out here for a multitude of reasons. I hated the company and still do. And I have many friends who still work there, who are miserable. It’s like going back to the scene of the crime.
When you’re in the middle of it, you can’t see clearly because you’re at management’s mercy and you need your income. And you’re surrounded by manipulators who try to convince you that “it’s like this everywhere”, or “you think you’re a 4, but you’re really just a 2”, and “you should be grateful to work here”.
It doesn’t mean we haven’t moved on to a better life. But we care about the good people who are still trying to survive there. I offer helpful advice where I can. I offer sympathy and understanding and encouragement to the employees who are caught up in the daily confusion of a company that changes leadership every 1-2 years and is doing whatever it can to make them feel discouraged and walk away without a severance package.
And it’s fun to pop in here every now and then to disrupt the condescending know- it alls, the non-empathetic yes-men, and the victim-shamers. Yes-I take them on in real life too. Once you see them for what they are, they are easy to outplay.
