Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

11/17 - Compliance

Managers are letting it slip that a huge org change and layoffs postponed until 11/17 for compliance. Some suggesting people get started looking for employment and not get caught by surprise. If you're not in a hub...get ready!

Guess we can take cake about the clients during the pandemic but who will take care of our families.

Thanks Chuck!

@1hcp+17G5Ip7Z thank you for your response. I have a friend that works in ET and he said he has so many managers, it's almost impossible to get anything done. Something as simple as an email requires 3- 4 people to sign off before it can be sent. Sometimes it literally takes two to three weeks to send out a meeting invite.

@onv Enterprise Testing doesn't fall under compliance anymore but is still under corporate risk. There are tons of associate managers, managers, senior managers, and directors in enterprise testing with way less than 7 direct reports each. Look at the HL structure under Jason Lee for an example of an over bloated structure. They'll probably cut the lower level associate managers and their managers who do the actual work keep more of the useless senior managers and directors. Mandy keeps saying it'll be "thoughtful", but I have no confidence they'll do the right thing.

Good, it’s incredibly bloated. I have friend in Compliance. She’s a compliance snr manager. She has 4 directs, all IC’s. She reports to another compliance snr manager. That mgr has 2 managers reporting to her and a total of 11 reports. They report to a Compliance Director with 4 managers, 1 IC and a total of 28 reports. The most any of those managers has is 6 directs, the others have 2 or 1. He reports to a snr director with 4 directors under him and a total of 83 reports. Above that it starts to branch out and make sense.

You can remove like two layers of management, consolidate the groups, and replace most of the senior mgr/director roles with lower level manager roles and save a c-ap ton of capital. You would likely not increase any risk either. So many bloated over titled teams.

Does Enterprise Testing fall under compliance?

I am hearing mass layoffs are coming to the hubs as well. We sit next to some of the auto folks in Minnesota and I am hearing all funding and customer service people are being let go. Auto is going to back to only having 3 hubs.
