Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Retail branches?

I know that a lot of us are in the dark but I'm curious to see if anyone has heard anything about retail banking layoffs. I know that they're working on closing branches, and I'd assume that low vs. high volume branches and length of service would be considerations in which branches to close.

Does anyone know or have you heard anything about layoffs of tellers, bankers, and managers at branches? When, who, any other info?

A lot of people in my area are getting really nervous about this on top of the stress we are already dealing with from coronavirus and dealing with clients. Morale is really low and the prospect of possible future layoffs is making everything worse

@npr+177l625S Tried asking DM about myself specifically and my branch which has been closed since COVID. No answers given, which makes me wonder if I will be a displaced manager for re organized. Any info?

OCC list is lagging in real time. A branch that I know is closing was not listed on OCC site until 3 weeks later...exactly 3 months until official close date. Unfortunately, we can't look to them as a guide.

I looked up your branch and it is on the list of potential closures.

WF retail banking has been adopting the Chase model, little by little, for years. I would venture to guess the branches will have 1-2 private bankers and a business specialist and a couple tellers. At most. We are eventually going digital, check out a Chase branch near you if you want to know the future of WF retail. Similarly, WFA has been adopting policy and pay structure from other wirehouses (UBS, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, etc). It is WF going 'mainstream' or following 'induatry norm'.

Just my opinion. Good luck out there

The OCC lists bank closures weekly. Tjst info is 100% accurate and not conjecture from a well meaning team member. Yes, team member.
