You work 25 years in the company and EM gives you PIP in return during crisis.

Some people will have to pass PIP to give some perceived “credibility”. Who knows if some selected people have been deliberately planted to go through the PIP to pass it. Never trust any of your supervisors or managers. If they can execute this dirty PIP exercise, they are capable of many other unimaginable dirty tricks.
MOM interviewed HR Singapore 3 Sep
Please continue to submit your case to MOM
Anyone survived through PIP? What is the percentage of passing?

Trust me, they will protect you.
Call 6302 7103 speak to TAFEP directly also.
They have a file case for the unethical company already, and the numbers are growing .
For so many years, being compliant driven is more important than getting the business right. The ‘Yes’ culture will only bring you so far. Some non safety related work can be easily decided but it becomes can you “double confirm”. Efforts wasted in wrong direction. All the baseload routine work is not recognised.
@czqz+16zEvLP3 we are good performers, management explains that PIP is to make us even better. What kind of lame excuses from XOM. All the DH , managers also need to go into PIP to improve and make themselves better . Their poor leadership and bad decision making in investments have made EM Financial status to fall into deep sh–! EM need to change from the TOP but not the bottom.
SGunited!lets make sure that everyone is aware of what they can do
@camo+16zEvLP3 Can you post the contact? Will we really remain anonymous?
Everyone inside the organisation is scared.. will you over write the executive even if he is talking nonsense. No! We will just keep quiet and say, okay, let’s do it! Why risk your salary for a job..
Please just take your pay, and be contented. Don’t like it, leave..
EM need to form union before the upcoming big lay off after squart. What General branch can do is very limited.
Very encouraging to see positive notes SG united through crisis.
Scum leaders ran away and deserted their team in crisis
May i know what sort of performance target will they set if under PIP. Can i go through PIP and review with the supervisor regularly to get feedback, ask specifically if there is anything that is not up to mark. And what suggestions they have. If the targets are unreasonable, document it for proof later. If supervisor cant suggest any better or did not say performance not up to mark. Then they dont have a case to terminate? Basically, its going to be painful and minute all the review sessions. Ask for hr to be around if need. I believe there are many capable people who dont deserve this. It will also be a pain to them as well if you show that you are not giving up. And if you are going to go down, you are bringing them with you.
Please connect outside this forum and form an alliance. Together we are stronger!
MOM will keep your anonymity. Just submit your details, you will be fine, I was informed many others have done that. They will contact you and all you need to do is tell them the truth nothing but the truth. You have no performance issues and being forced to undergo PIP, or sign agreement and declare we voluntarily resign.
This has to be Voluntarily Separation Scheme as Australia then.
Let me know if you need guidance.
@cjuw+16zEvLP3 Just proceed to report. It doesn’t matter which option was selected. The key is that you’ve been forced and bullied into a corner to make this decision. Many others have reported similar cases so MOM will understand. Remember to also book an appointment with TADM (dispute management) as soon as possible to file wrongful dismissal. If you’re still in doubt, just call the MOM hotline. You will be surprised that they can be quite helpful and responsive. Let’s all hang in there. Take care.
What will happen if we report to MOM? I got lay off too and my last day will be somewhere this month. How do I fight for my retrenchment benefits?
There are 20s to 30s affected. Questionable reasons given too.. not surprising..
@cyuc+16zEvLP3 Thank you for leading this. We need everyone’s help to keep the pressure on both MOM and the company. While all of us are terribly upset and disgusted, we need to be patient and professional while interacting with MOM so that they can understand our plight and work for us, not against us.
The voluntary retrenchment program is yet another emergency attempt to deal with the massive global backlash from their dirty PIP/PIL trick. This is akin to a mass distribution of morning after pills to hide the tracks of their rape crime. Let’s not fooled by these shameless scums and pre-empt MOM as well.
Keep reporting to MOM. Together, we shall overcome this. Stay strong, everyone.
@bwge+16zEvLP3 Is there 20s-30s
Folks, let’s keep writing to MOM who has responded. The latest is in the news that EM has offered voluntary retrenchment program to Australian employees, which will be double standards of not offered to Singaporeans.
Previously, below was written to MOM to investigate:
- Massive government JSS payouts to XOM to retain Singaporean employees, yet disguised retrenchment using PIP to lay off continues
Many expats still in Singapore working for XOM
- PIP seems to be targeting older employees
No retrenchment benefits offered
- XOM maintains dividend payouts to benefit executives and shareholders whilst rank and file takes the hit
- No pay cuts instituted to senior management, or employees before retrenchments as last resort
If all affected employees write to MOM individually to investigate, action can then be taken by the sheer numbers .
Do not allow fear hold you back from reporting to MOM. This is our own country and we should not allow ourselves to be bullied in such a dirty degrading manner. If it is only a handful of us reporting, MOM could be easily hoodwinked by this cunning company into believing that this is truly a performance-based exercise and all prior efforts will be futile. We need the numbers to reveal the truth. Your action will make a difference to the outcome of this horrible exercise.
This company has to be shamed publicly and we should ask for the following :
- Reinstate the impacted employee. If this is not possible, a proper retrenchment package is to be offered. Honest hardworking employees do not deserve to be screwed twice by being labelled a poor performer after being forced out in such a dirty manner.
- Claw back all JSS. This ruthless company does not deserve any single cent from taxpayers of Singapore. This is the only way to make the management pay the price for being complicit in this dirty exercise.
- Far too many jiak liao bee expats leeching on the Singapore affiliate. I don’t recognise any attempts by these JLB expats to groom or transfer skills to locals, apart from an infrequent farce promotion of another equally JLB useless local manager. Suspend/Revoke work pass privileges, if this issue is not resolved satisfactorily.
Stay united. Report to MOM now!
40-50s:
50-60s:
I doubt we have 30s, if yes pls add on
I belong to 50-60s, what about you?
Guys, has to be a concerted effort reporting to the authority. Waste no time. Need to know how many locals are affected especially the older ones. Damp dirty.
Fundamental rules to remember, fellow impacted colleagues, the is no evidence on poor performance.
This is an obvious disguised, concealed retrenchment.
Keep all your evidence and attach them in your email to MOM.
Those who signed up for PIP have very low chance to make it and likely they will be kick out by Exxonmobil within 1or 2 months ..just be patient, we will have more solid evidence to prove this PIP/PIL is a company's unethical dirty trick to disguise retrenchment. I'm sure MOM will step in. Exxonmobil cannot afford more negative news..the boat will sink faster.
Isn’t it obvious why we are at this stage now?
Actually im genuinely curious. What is the retrenchment benefit that we have? And what are they offering for people who got laid off?
It’s time to stick together and stay united. So far MOM has received a number of EM cases, it appears that there are evidence to indicate this is a dirty lay off.
Supervisor not able to provide evidence of poor performance, so this will boost our success to boot EM Singapore out
We the so called C grade performers are the ones holding the fort when they keep moving newer employees around. Keep business rolling. But when it comes to the crunch management don't recognise these efforts because they are just "base job".
Keep reporting to MOM & Jo Teo to maintain the pressure. Present your case factually and logically, substantiating with evidence of your prior good performance (such as recognition awards and emails receiving praise) as well as increment so that it evidences your proven track record so that EM Singapore will find it hard to wriggle out of this, unless they continue to lie. The sheer number of similar cases will tear them apart automatically.
We are desperate ! If Josephine Teo does nothing to help us, then we really need to think wisely for the next election !
PIP is just a process for EM to lay off employees, especially the C grade performers.
Just got my ranking results last week, and it is very clear that this organization does not value the hard work that employees put in. All they want is more and more, with arbitrary attributes cited for low ranking. Does this company not realize the importance of good employees? All they want are people who put up a good show
Expect XOM to lay off many employees through PIP after the squart to avoid paying retrenchment benefits
@afdo+16zEvLP3 The recent episode of NCM being booted out of Sengkang GRC should send chills down the spine of our highly esteemed PAP ministers. If they fail to address the pressing concerns of their electorate, they will be the next In line to bid goodbye to their soaring political careers and million dollar jobs. This is why we are now witnessing unprecedented industrial actions approved by labour chief NCM in the recent Eagle Services incident.
If EM Singapore were to continue their old tactic of threatening to pull their investments out of Singapore, it goes to show that the brains of their management are filled with nothing, except substances resembling sewerage. In fact, many projects including those in Singapore are already sacrificed in pursuit of China-1. Should EM Singapore threatens a country exit, they can only lelong their assets at dirt cheap prices under the current environment. Employees can hopefully look forward to a more ethical new employer.
For those who are still hesitating to approach MOM, I would say that you have nothing to lose. The political landscape is already shifting and MOM can no longer turn a deaf ear to valid grievances suffered by Singaporean PMETs.
Be brave and be strong, let’s stand united against this disgustingly unscrupulous company. Start by reporting your own circumstances to MOM. The sheer number of reported MOM cases shall send those evil arrogant eunuch managers & supervisors excreting in their pants and crying in front of their Dallas/Houston overlords.
Let’s all do our part and let justice take its course.
Don't be foolish, Singapore government will not risk angering one of the biggest foreign investor. They probably cleared the PIP program with the government before implementing...
sudden in no where created a Operation Advisor role for excess ppl to stay. Then what do Process Div Manager and DH doing?
sad thing is.. never heard anything in the media.. im sorry for all that was involved.. be strong guys. . god have plans for all of us..
I will be sending my letter to MOM tomorrow. We need a louder voice. Please join in
