—> You think the incentive can cover the amount EM has invested in the employee (to be laid-off)? Really laughable, this sour employee should really be laid-off.

lol, obviously not enough for pple with big appetite, hence the unscrupulous act to avoid severence payment

We can’t hope for this company to be ethical. If EM had been practising what they preached, this dirty PIP tactic will never be used. Whatever these shameless managers had said in the past are now a direct slap to their faces. This is like a pastor being caught seeking pleasure in Geylang and still insistent that their presence there is for a noble cause. How nauseating!
We need stand united to pressure them. Act now and keep your submissions to MOM flowing.

If EM Singapore were to get away this time, there will be little chance that any real voluntary severance program will be rolled out here. Please stand up against this unethical practice by whistleblowing to MOM even if you haven’t been NSI yet. It is obvious who are the people deserving the PIP. If you don’t stand up against this act, you will be the next on the chopping board to save the mgmt’s a— to fund their condos/landed property and maids.
This takes moral courage but if you fail to voice out now, you will be the next victim.

We all need a dose of reality. The company is led by a bunch of executives who are golden handcuffed to their company owing to their XOM share benefits. So even if any of them have any moral resids, their self-interests will drive them to toe the company line. The regular employee “connect” sessions are meant to allow the execs to feel about themselves. Their answers to our questions on Slido made me puke! If we don’t help ourselves, no one else will!

Exxonmobil ranking system can only breed yes man, that's why the company is in such a mess now. Believe many has already lost faith in the management team. The company will not survive the crisis, more headcount cutting is expected in the coming year. Hopefully, the company use a more ethical way to cut employee.

XOM need to change purely from the TOP. Vision 2020 is totally blinded. We are lacking of excellent leaders to strive for success. Eg: shortsighted mangers making wrong decisions buying over SAR2 . We really need those technical people to run the plant. Many non technical managers should go into PIP or lay off so as to cut cost. If XOM continues to keep these need improvement managers but choose to lay off the ground people so as to secure their rice bowls, XOM will never ever come back strong again in the future. LAY OFF NEED IMPROVEMENT MANAGERS FIRST!

Well, looks like XOM rather keep the $$ to pay dividends and keep executives n managers employed than giving the hard working loyal employees a proper retrenchment benefits and/or retire in dignity.

What a joke!? If your employee's performance required PIP means that is the Manager and DH Performance, actually the Manager and DH need to be put under PIP.

Employees are just a number to the company that can be substituted without any warnings, regardless you are adding value to the company.
Last day with the company, handed over my responsibilities dutifully and employer did not even showed any appreciation for the work you have completed.
Immediate supervisor who used to acknowledged your hard work disappeared in sight when we bid farewell and thanked them for their support.
No looking back at this unethical company which hardly value every effort you have put in.
Glad I have taken PIL instead of spending time to “improve “ my performance in PIP, to this date, employer failed to provide evidence that I belong to NSI.

Good Investment in me

For the many years what I learnt is what does the process says? What did the red book or blue book says? Am I allowed to do this? Who is the owner or process owner? Who is the approving authority? Have I checked this? Have I checked that? Boss approval is based on xxxx approval basis , I am lost.

Are these going to be good skills invested to keep us afloat once we are out ? For those of us who were outside elsewhere before joining, we all know the outside world don’t operate like this.

EM will axe singaporean, then hire back singaporean to enjoy gov Jobs Growth Incentive (JGI) scheme. Dirty trick that EM top mgmt have

As an American I hope you put pressure on XOM. The government and people there should fight for jobs. I believe that XOM should hire only Singaporeans and send back all the expats. As an American and a populist I expect the same for the workers and managers at American sites should hire and promote American. The age of globalization is over

Singaporeans to get lay off first! Many of them are seniors. Are we too costly compare to the expatriates or the foreign talents? Is this the best way to cut cost without alternative solution?

Anyone got experience seeking EAP (Centre for Effective Learning) for mental health issue?? Even though am not in NSI category, I don't feel safe, keep having anxiety, sometimes got panic attacks. No energy/motivation to work with this environment, can kena cut off anytime, not worth working long hours

@gnxl+16zEvLP3 Don’t spread fake news la.. might as well say quarterly PIP, to keep the best of the best.. not sure what they are really good at.. probably the official lay-off will commence, 2 weeks for each year with a cap. Do not expect heyday severance package

Now management are feeling the brunt. Got layoff with only 3 months compensation even when they have worked very long years with XOM.
And the saddest part, most of them are Singaporeans. 😔

Soon technicians will get it as well. Its only a matter of time.

Remember, don't be a slave to the company.

Have you noticed that the Sept communication session forum has no anonymous option for submitting slido questions? The “leaders” are scared of what they will hear if it’s anonymous. We are muted. The emperor has no clothes and is scared to hear the truth.....WE ARE EXXONMOBIL ! WE ARE DIVIDED! NO TRUST AT ALL!

The recent MLRP exercise reeks of age discrimination amongst other violations of the company’s hypocritical core principles. I have a colleague who is clearly a contributor but placed in the infamous 8% club clearly due his age. He is into his last year as a RER and they would not even accord him the dignity of a peaceful last year of service.
