Never understand why the management is appreciative of our hard work and we have the results to show for, but we are subjected to layoffs and PIP, whereas Dallas cowboys are still getting RSUs and bonuses? Was hoping there’s someone who’s enlightened to explain why this is the case:

Since the gov can't do anything about the unethical severance of our peers last Sept, why spend more to compensate for retrenchment? This 300 personnel cut is obviously for show, the real show is this sept. PIP...

Not saying that only the retarted will choose to stay. That's simply not true. Lots of brilliant minds here. But it is definitely true that EM will choose to treat everyone who stays as r—ds. So go figure.

@37wpq+16zEvLP3 —- you mean to say WIN won’t come up with any emails to tell us to take care of our mental health or something of sorts? We just received one this week?! Another tone deaf person- bet you are good at planning and powerpoints.

There’s only 300 because it’s way cheaper to use PIP to remove folks, so the survivors have it tougher. Hope all of you are up for it and compete to win!

Read so many frustrated, anxiety comments. If not given a good package, just trip the whole plant and walk out EM gate. Just watch the big flaring for celebration.

Not sure what’s your issue with WIN. Remember that is made up of volunteers and your fellow colleague and friends. Why take it out on them?

"This is a difficult but necessary step..." said the spokesperson. —- the most necessary step is to get DW out of his job because he’s obviously not up to the task and install an external CEO for an external perspective. Our shareholder returns has been piss poor and we are cutting employees to cut costs - but still give DW and his inner circle of a–kissers RSUs. What gives?

I’m pretty sure there will be emails from WIN or some other network that covers how to handle stress @ work. Watch this space! Naturally, it will be the platform to trumpet care and other values of #weareexxonmobil! I’m shocked that no one has come up with the hashtag #dw4eva...

110 cut from F&L, out of around 400.

Many positions moving to Thailand

It's all a PR move to show that EM's cut is smaller than Shell's. Look at the way it was reported in the BT. Casually mentioning Shell's 500 cuts, but that is spread over 3 years, and of which (only) 200 by 2021. Reality is more cuts incoming but no disclosure to the press and without/smaller severance package.

Only 300 layoff for MPT only and must be announced to the world is very suprising lah.
But its not even a suprise shock anymore when more and more NMPT TECHNICIANS will be kicked out very discreetly quietly silently thru PIPing NLIing LIing along the way lah.
Dirty sh–ty sacking headhunting job is still not over yet by mgmt got quota to achieve lah.
EM must announced to the world disposed 300 only just for show only that em is still doing fine solid steady and rock steady lah.
Only WE know better whats happening inside em lah.
If announced bigger combined total numbers MPT and NMPT surely investors shareholders stakeholders will say GOODBYE EM and stock price crash lah.
To all my fellows hardworking and loyal em TECHNICIANS
ALL THE BEST AND GOOD LUCK

Yes if you are given the package - go. There is no need for loyalty to a company. The company is there to make monies and you are just a tool. You are valuable only when they make monies, you are not when they don't make monies - so all this performance appraisal to some extent is crab and a tool for managers to "manage" people.

Dear Singapore colleagues,
Our hearts ache for those of you that could be impacted by separations or by staying. We recognize that it is not a reflection of your dedication and very much understand how you feel as we felt it last year also. Please stay brave for your own self and your families. No job can replace the importance you play to your families. May good fortune be in your future! Praying for all of us!

  • Your US colleagues

We owe it to our colleagues, team members and friends in the company to keep our anger to private circles. Should be kind to let people hear about any updates from their managers rather than a public website or news.
