Those people who are staying have it worse they got to do the jobs of those who left + continue to live with the anxiety of getting pip the next performance assessment. It is clear that this will not be the only retrenchment that come. It is clear that they are making preparations for that by adjusting Leave carryover policy, revisiting 3 months aws. On one hand is to get people to leave on their own, on the other hand is to reduce the cost of future dismissal. The organisation is clearly top heavy and it is a “working class subsidised management” organisation. This is a blessing in disguise for all working class, come on you can get better pay outside if you are young. For the management folks well of course you will not find matching pay so just continue to “excel through others” and we will see how many folks are left for you to be managed. Maybe EM will have 2 managers for every employee. Lol!

can sell condo and downgrade to HDB... most people in sg live in HDB and it's very decent. if you are not working you don't need a car anymore. there are lots of initiatives by the government to help people like us, and jobs are not hard to find if you are flexible and adapt. it's not all doom and gloom, we'll all come out of this stronger, and there are better jobs and environments out there. most importantly is be at peace with the news. please take care all

A major portion of ExxonMobil's revenue comes from SG, you don't know what you have in SG. If you become a new company in SG, you will be independent and rich. Talk to your leaders there and push for it. This is a good time to do it, now that EM is divesting lots of assets.
