@1ur: I agree with you 100% that the work coming out of India is not managed well at all. Wells can not properly manage what’s happening in their own building, much less another country. From my experience, a job that is being done in India is specifically spelled out, A thru Z, and they do exactly as they are told but there is no critical thinking involved or allowed. If something out of the ordinary happens, WHICH IS ALL DAY EVERY DAY, then mistakes occur and it’s up to us to fix them. Plus we can not call over there, all communication has to be via email. And like it or not, there are problems around language differences.
I want to be very clear that I am not saying that it’s anyone in India’s fault. Not at all. I wish all our employees well always. I blame it all on how Wells Fargo has set it up, how Wells Fargo manages it, how out-of-touch our management is about the work, and how outdated and ridiculous our systems are. It has been a total nightmare for our department for the past 10 years. We are told “It’s not going to change. Make it work.” And in fact, we take the heat if problems occur and we don’t catch them before they cause bigger problems. And one more thing, which I think is hilarious: we are not allowed to say “India” lol.
However, the consistent problems will never stop Wells from moving as many jobs overseas as possible. They do not care about the quality of the work. They only care about saving the $$$. No searching for excellence here! Wells Fargo is just fine with mediocre outcomes if it saves them money.
