They should have given the image overlays to the manufacturers to begin with, then run patch updates once the device connects to the network or VPN. I’ve mentioned this over and over for years when deploying a massive amount of hardware. But no, they think their stupid software overlay is some sort of top secret proprietary. Ridiculous.
Every single time I go to a Vendor site, (Cisco, Apple, Microsoft, etc) to review a new White Paper or Product/Service Catalog I get a “going to jail flashing red light violation notice reported to your manager and HR for violating internet policy.” They don’t let you do your job. They have to peer over your shoulder and track your every movement.
Dumb just dumb. They shoot themselves in the foot every time.
