Can someone explain what is meant by AT&T does not update their age tables? I thought the issue was that the AT&T payout for those who are forced to retire prior to 65 are impacted as their monthly annuity would be less than the actuarial equivalent of their vested benefit, as required by ERISA.
Even if you did take recent surplus you can get these figures. It’s estimated based on when you take it not your last day do work.
I'm so glad I didn't take the last MVO. This is a much better lump sum.
Last year they tried to get everyone to quit and take their lump while interest rates were higher and the lump would be lower
Should be pretty accurate. Fidelity is currently using them for 2020 lump sum pay outs
Last year they dropped a lot at this time of year. They are looking much better now, even better before last year's drop.
How accurate are these figures?
There up 15 per cent
Should have read “hit” submit not “not” submit - stupid autocorrect
You don’t have to enter the new segment values Fidelity is already using them. Just enter the date you’re looking to retire and not submit. They will show if you enter “assumption Details”
Forgive my ignorance however can someone please help me here.
I’m early 40’s and have about 42k in my pension
I just recently got my lump sum payout and assuming I left Dec 1st
How much of a bump would this be waiting to withdraw Jan 1st vs this month
Yep, just did the calculation, I am happy now, time to plan my exit ;)
Just do an estimate on your lump sum for 2020 and then click on assumption details and you will see the new segment values
Does anyone have the IRS Segment rates? I, too am anxiously awaiting these rates; but, I don’t understand what has been posted here.
I checked the IRS Table with the Segment rates this morning before coming to work & rates for November were not yet posted.
Fidelity does currently reflect these new segment values in their lump sum assumption details for 2020
Can someone explain what the three segments mean? link?
Correction
Att still doesn’t update their age tables so does it matter. That is partly what the lawsuit is about. It all has to be correct.
