Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Many DT jobs on the job board

Odd to see after so much thinning of that position over the years.

Not strange at all. Business Services as a whole was playing a distant fiddle to U-Verse and Wireless services enterprise wide. That has all changed in the last couple of years. The very small, small and medium size business markets are showing tremendous growth with a huge emphasis on WiFi, SD-WAN and VoIP services. Also, state-wide hosted 911 growth is off the charts for emergency services. Lots of growth = lots of additional deployment work which = more headcount for installation and support.

We’ve had them in our yard for as long as I can remember but I don’t really know what they do.

They have to get rid of the ones who built up benefits. Should be illegal. They do the same thing with managers
