Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

T WANTS DirecTV to fail ...

"We didn’t buy DirecTV because we love satellite,” said Stankey. “We bought DirecTV because we love the customer base and the customer base could be migrated into more on-demand-oriented products and services.”

They're not losing a million per year. It's a million per quarter

Losing over 1 million customers a year on DIRECTV tells you something? Treat customers like c-ap and lie and cheat them this is what happens! Like they always say if you don’t take care of your customers somebody else will....

So t bought dtv to basically k–l the competition and sunset the technology. Well done I hope the federal trade commission is watching along with the fcc. Good job.

When AT&T first bought Direct TV, they were doing everything possible to get customers to switch from UVerse to DTV including: threatening to disconnect service or massively raise prices, signing customers up for DTV instead of UVerse without telling them, or outright lying to the customer.

Randall and friends were desperate to replace UVerse with satellite. DTV was going to be the next big thing for this company. Now only several years later, formerly happy DTV customers (that haven't yet left) hate their AT&T DTV with its lousy customer service, formerly happy DTV technicians (that haven't been laid off yet) hate their lives, and the shareholders of this company have lost a fortune due to Randall's complete incompetence. If Randall's AT&T is good at one thing, it is acquiring healthy businesses and completely destroying them.

Maybe the board needs to ask itself: does this clown have the slightest idea what he's doing?

Stankey is clueless. He would be worse than Stephenson, and that is very bad. When he told HBO executives he knew more than them he proved against. He is an egotistical bully who will drive Warner Media into the ground like he did DTV

They’ve done everybody they can to drive away that customer base. We’re all so screwed...

'“The success of HBO Max is built on the ability for the company to rationalize why (the companies that AT&T bought) all belong together,” said Stankey earlier this month.'

What the he11 does this statement even mean?

These guys' (Stanky and Randy) only actual skill seems to be the ability to navigate corporate bureaucracy all the way to the top. They project a calm confidence that they anticipate everything that comes their way, but if you go back and listen to what they've said about every big decision in the moment, it's obvious in retrospect that they get ALL the big ones wrong.

What's funny is that everyone in the company suffers the consequences of their ineptitude. Well, everyone aside from senior "Leadership"...they're being compensated better than ever.

OMG, the Stank thinks Scooby-doo and Sesame Street will help get young viewers vs Disney. A– parent of two young kids I couldn’t get either one interested in it. They watch YouTube kids and they watch Disney content. Older one is getting into the Marvel movies. They are just guessing and speculating with no real plan. They have no idea what they are doing. Gambling with the shareholders money.

At the time of the merger, Randall couldn't stop talking about how we have to buy DTV because we need to "need to get to scale in content".

Stankface ain't singing that tune no more.
